There also was the episode with the following plot summary:
The friendship between Fred and Barney--not to mention each of their
marriages--are threatened when a paternity test reveals that Barney is in fact
Pebbles' father.
How about this one:
Dino gets rabies and runs around killing everyone. The entire town of Bedrock
is wiped out, save Fred. In the gripping and dramatic climax, sole survivor
Fred is forced to choose between becoming Dino's next meal, or putting a bullet
into what once had been his life-long four-legged friend.
Network execs thought that last one was a little too disturbing for the mostly
children viewers of the Flintstones, so they never aired it.
