In the mid 60's, NASA, for the Apollo missions, conducted a series
of experiments for material to handle the heat and stresses of re-entry.
The material had to be able to withstand 3,000*F and be found in
abundance.
Several carbon composites were shortlisted, however, the material chosen
above all others was Alice's pubic hair.
