No doubt it was Great Grandpa Brady who had the loosest BM's (bowel
movements). In fact, very few people remember the game show that
followed. Kings, perhaps you forgot about this. There were only about
8 episodes. Years later, history attributed the premature cancellation
of this wonderful game show to poor marketing and time slot - right in
competition with the Brady Bunch on a different network for goodness
sake.
The show was called "What's inside of Grandpa Brandy's Colon?" It
starred Wink Martindale as the host. Contestants would guess what was
inside. Sometimes you would hear a bell ring, indicating that Grandpa
Brady had a spastic colon at that particular moment. Spastic Colon is
characterized by lower abdominal pain or discomfort, diarrhea,
constipation (or alternating diarrhea/constipation), gas, bloating, and
nausea. If Grandpa Brady did have a spastic colon, the dollar values
were double.
After the contestants guessed what was inside of Grandpa Brady's colon,
he would be given either a hot soap enema, or suppository. Since there
was no way to predict when he would have a BM (bowel movement). Once
Grandpa Brady delivered the BM (bowel movement) on stage, the contents
were analyzed, and the contestant who came the closest to guessing the
contents would win a prize. The prize was often the contents of the
colon (BM)(bowel movement) itself. Some of the things that came out of
his colon included race cars, gerbils (frequently), and once Bobby
Brady was hiding up there!
Like I said, the show went off the air after just a few eipsodes, due
to low numbers as the result of very poor marketing.
You can see old episodes of "What's inside of Grandpa Brandy's Colon?"
on the Game Show network sometimes. Check you local listings for the
time.
