When Putin says that Ukraine must be prepared to make serious
concessions, that is true.
As a humanitarian concession, Ukraine should agree that if
it rearms with nuclear weapons, that it should not use them
against any major Russian population centers in order to punish
the Russian people for lavishing popular support on Putin
when he is acting with all the arrogance of power, trying
to grab lands in purest of self-interest, simply because he
believes that he can get away with it.
Ukraine should instead, when the time has come, give a demonstration
in a remote area such as Siberia. Then it might occur to Russia
that it has not been "terrorized" but has been spared.
Years ago, before Putin had started his anti-gay and
Ukrainian misadventures, I had made a Usenet post
to say that I thought that car accidents were sometimes
being staged in Russia as a cover for political murder.
Putin himself almost got hit by a car within hours of
that Usenet post. Were it not for that odd coincidence,
I would not even remember that Putin had almost been
hit by a car, once.
May justice come, from the shadows.

One worker seriously injured and panic among nearby residents in secretive
community, but public being reassured about incident.
A small explosion at nuclear facility in a Siberian ‘closed city’ is
being
downplayed by the authorities, despite panic spreading among the population.
Operators of the Siberian Chemical Industrial Complex say a container
housing
depleted uranium lost pressure and ignited, seriously injuring a nearby
worker.
Officials are reassuring the public there has been no radiation leak into
the
surrounding area in Seversk, Tomsk region, with the situation being
monitored
using special equipment.
Formerly called Tomsk-7 and located on the Tom River, Seversk was
established
in 1949 to produce and process materials for the Soviet nuclear weapons
programme.
Blogger Ivan Khomeev wrote about 'a small emergency'. He added: 'A drum was
turned over.

You would also like the Ukrainian song in English title, "Come on Lads, Get
Your Horses", done best by the Ukrainian National Bandura chorus. Again, I
did not know the title or meaning, but could practically see the horses
breaking into a run The sheer sound of the music was so vivid and visual.
I hope in that spirit that Ukraine will surprise Vladimir Putin if he has a
cynical plan to hold another faked "vote" as pretext to steal a prized piece
of territory that would give Russia access to the Black Sea. The Russian
people will adore him if he does, when he seems like he "won" at first and
got his way by boldness. They will later renounce him when they face the
horror of delayed consequences. This is not "anti-Russian" to say any more
that it is "unpatriotic" to say that American would have been better to
eliminate by force many of its previous, right-wing leaders and their wars
of aggression. It is the opposite, what the genuine patriots would say and
do. The day will come that "European" and "Russian" are not oppositional
choices.

I did not notice any report in U.S. news media concerning the explosion at a
nuclear plant in Siberia.
I learned of the explosion at a nuclear plant in Siberia only because I
Googled to see if there had been any explosions at nuclear plants in
Siberia,
occurring any more recently than Sep 1, 2014. Anything earlier would not
have
counted.
Vladmir Putin- you should not blame Ukraine. It might be coincidence, like
the murder of an atomic scientist under the onion dome of St. Basil's
Cathedral might be a coincidence, unrelated to your own murder-orders, but
I tend to doubt it.
You should not blame the U.S, blame NATO, or blame the CIA. All of these
forces have constraints that inhibit bold action, which is instead a
perquisite enjoyed more by a minority that has been sufficiently,
historically abused that it would do nearly anything in nearly
an absence of fear.
You have the same problem as the American CIA, a penchant for creating
enemies everywhere you go, with nearly everything that you do. Your
destruction someday could be a Mystery Bomb with so many suspects that you
would have no idea against whom even to retaliate.
You should not confuse terrorism with avenging angels or confuse an act of
terror with a show of mercy and restraint. It would be showing a lack of
perspective.
If you simply retired now and took all your ill-gotten wealth of billions
and
lived quietly on some luxurious estate, probably even your bitterest enemies
would be so relieved to be rid of you that they would not bother coming
after
you with bloody intent. It would be the best thing to do for your country.
You are suffering from the same mental disease as Napoleon, who was even
less
a friend to Russia than you are.
A small event is sometimes a major portent.
