CANADA, DENMARK, RUSSIA
START WORLD WAR III IN ARCTIC
TORONTO- Canada's Prime Minister announced
plans yesterday for an army training center
and deepwater port on the third day of an
Arctic trip meant to assert sovereignty over
a region with potentially vast energy
resources.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper hoped to impress
the world community, with this display of
his nation's imposing military forces.
The Canadian Prime Minister bragged that
the potential transfer of world wealth was
going to make Canada "rich, beyond its wildest
dreams".
Denmark was staking its own claims with a
scientific mission and military intervention
intended to counteract what it termed
"Canada's grandiose imperialistic schemes".
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced
formally that the little flag planted by
his 3 Russian submarines proved that he
was there, first. Putin vowed to push out
Canada and Denmark like a high school
senior taking the lunch money from a couple
fifth-graders.
The Bush administration and its oil-men
cronies were criticized by both Democrats
and Republicans as being too slow-witted
to recognize the significance of the
motley assortment of Arctic raiders.
White House press secretary Tony Snow
said that the Arctic ice should not be
any one nation's exclusive reign.
Said Snow, "The United States refuses
to stand idly by during this invasion of
the North Pole, as it stood idly by during
Hitler's invasion of Poland. We expect that
the North Polish people will welcome us
as liberators."
The searing heat of nuclear bombs is
expected eventually to thaw the new
World Cold War, finishing what global
warming began, much like the defrosting of
a refrigerator.
