Coffee+Shop+Revolutionary&defid=2286616
Coffee Shop Revolutionary
An individual (coffee shop revolutionary)
or group of individuals (revolutionaries)
who speculate on the utopia that "could be"
following radical societal, governmental,
and cultural change without actually taking
action to do initiate it.

Coffeehouses have been a part of the culture for many years.
The 50's were the beginning of the increase in popularity,
and a time when the great poets of the beat generation
gathered together to espouse their philosophies.
Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, Gregory Corso and
William S. Burroughs were leaders in what became
the true counter culture revolution of the 60's.
Rod McKuen was one of the original "beatniks",
writing and composing from San Francisco, since
the late 50's,and continuing today. As the 50's
became the 60's, the beatniks evolved into hippies,
and by the 90's, people who express themselves in
different or profound ways have come to be know as
"alternative". But it was always about gathering
together to share music, thoughts, and coffee with
others. Politics come and go, but the basis for
the coffeehouse remains.

Tech students find science at bottom of coffee cup
By Sue Vorenberg, The Albuquerque Tribune
ALBUQUERQUE - New Mexico Tech students are really
good at dropping their coffee mugs - e
specially out of second-story windows.
Tech's cup "kind of looks like a bomb," Hirschfeld said.
"It's rounded (at the bottom) and the bomb part breaks
so the rest can survive."
The society holds the mug drop competition and a ceramic
golf ball and golf club competition each year at its
annual meeting, said Hammetter, who also is a manager
at Sandia National Laboratories.
At the competition, Tech's mug was dropped from a paltry 9 feet.
The team wanted to drop it from 15 feet, but the contest
started early - while they were still flying to Florida,
Burr said.

My ancestor wrote some good poetry I guess.
Makes me feel quietly proud that one of my
forefathers helped you from beyond the grave.
Shame the talent for writing died with him.
Yes. My cleansing fire is your cleansing fire.
Come. Yes, coffee soon. I'm actually borrowing
the book from a friend. I was going to give
it back to her w/out reading it and decided
I must. It's worth reading.
