Interestingly enough, at least one person has survived falling without
a parachute. Your chances are greatly improved if you land laying
down face down rather than feet down feet first In the latter case
you're almost certain to die instantly of compression injuries to the
spine. But your chances are even better if you stay on the ground
in the first place.
