One of the more interesting moments when I was writing
was when I got an impulse to do a web search for the
phrase "Jewish tailor".

I had never heard anything before about tailors being
anything significant in Jewish religion or culture.
I had heard of Jewish bankers or movie producers,
but not tailors.

I was curious if the notion to search was a coincidence
or maybe some forgotten memory, so as a test, I asked
my partner if he knew of anything special to do with
Jewish people and tailors.   He looked puzzled, sat and
thought, then said that no, this didn't ring any bells,
at all.

Once, I was producing a baseball-themed parody of the
Bush Sr. administration, and I got an urge to put some
material related to Babe Ruth into it.   I thought that maybe
I was just being ridiculous, that this was just random baseball
stuff having nothing to do with Bush, by any stretch,
so why was I putting it in?

A week or so later, a picture appeared in the newspaper
of Bush shaking hands with Babe Ruth.   I had not known
that Bush had ever been captain of his baseball team, or
had met Ruth.   I was stunned.

Who knows where a Muse comes from?   Who knows
even what the heck, exactly, it is trying to say?

Originally, this whole thing started because the death
of Theodore Taylor, the nuclear scientist, had intrigued
me.    The Boston papers made no mention, in a brief
description of Taylor's life, concerning the MIT connection
or the student their who produced workable plans for
a nuclear weapon.

I confess that one of the ideas behind this fantasy is the
point that any aggrieved and forgotten group could
eventually become formidable, as an implication of
Taylor's warnings.    This is why old blood libels need
to be remedied by a new birth of conscience and amends.
