Great poem, and I certainly agree about the bird
in flight.

Our country is losing its conscience and
capacity for reason.
 The bird has a much greater view, from above, of what is
happening and surely also must pity the young
and old fascists, who probably do not realize that
they are fascists.    What the bird sees from above,
the world can see clearly only in sad hindsight.
