Actually, it works the same as life. Everything is interpolated.
The very fact of finding meaning is itself interpolation. The
reading of a poem or piece of prose, or the hearing of a conversation
is never purely what it is, and cannot be purely what it is or was,
but the is that happens each time is interpolated anew. That is
how we create meaning from the given, by reading into it.
