THE PALMOLIVE LADY IS DEAD

The Palmolive lady is dead
I know that it is shocking,
but that is what the newspaper said

Do human souls still live, after we croak?
The Palmolive lady must know-
Because whatever Death is,
She is soaking in it, now

Does Life have a meaning?
Or is Life simply cruel and mean?
Are we being suckers to have faith
In afterworlds that cannot be seen?

Is the Afterlife a mysterious, far-away land,
where Madge is helping the Angels
to soften their chapped hands?

Are we judged, for the good and bad things that we did?
Is it a good thing or a bad thing-
If our biggest thing was selling dishwashing liquid?

If Life is to have meaning,
then when we die, we must live
And yet, one  has to wonder-
Will she still be selling Palmolive?
