He likes to think of himself as truly wise, an intellectual, and is pompous
to the extent that he believes everything he says is entirely profound, and
must be heard by all those around him.
He is of no consequence to the group, and although I've not been around as
long as you have, I have been here since '98, which I suppose is longer
than most. Like you, I've not heard of this twit, nor do I remember any
"ac" any longer ago than the last couple months or so.
His attitude is to come into this group,or any other group of people he
encounters, impress us with his wisdom and intellectual points, and watch
us all fall in awe of his words; or at least allow him the floor, so to
speak.
The problem is that the only one that believes he's a critical thinker, a
philosopher, a wise man, and highly intelligent, is himself.
I remember his first tirade where he used incredibly tired and worn out
cliche's toward this group in an attempt to bull shit us into thinking he
really had something to say.
He does not.
I debated at Wayne State, I am pubished, and although I'm not an English
Major (You want fries with that...) I do know my way around the English
language. I know what he is attempting, but he doesn't have the tools to
pull it off. When he does have something original to say, it's wrapped
around a syntax style he is not competent in.
In other words, he's boorish, makes entirely too much unnecessary and
unwanted noise, and is truly insignificant. Whether he realizes that and
it's killing him, or he lacks the foresight to see this and really believes
he has something to offer, we cannot know.
Think of the pretext here. The guy shows up. Sticks around long enough to
learn a few people, then comes up with some bizarre commentary that he not
only conveys, but then editorializes!
The pay off for him is only that we reply. That's all he wants. The topic
is not only secondary and spurious, but it doesn't even mean anything to
him --other than a vehicle to have the floor.
Why do you think he changes the subject so often?
If I knew this guy personally, after several "shut the fuck up you unaware
insignificant" comments, he may get the idea. However, we don't have that
luxury here.
My suggestion is to simply ignore him. I blew the guy off after his first
tirade. Without an audience he will simply fade away.
We can alrady glean a few things from his past behaviour and comments. I
doubt seriously he has a lot of friends or social contacts in the real
world. His reality is entirely created in his head and is infested with
fantasy. His "quest" (his word, not mine) is to find a group of hero
worshippers that believe him to be both perceptive and profound.
If we chose not to play, he'll pick up his toys and go elsewhere.
