Q: When should I look for a warez release instead of a crack?
A: Some authors watch for cracks and update their software to defeat them,
in
some cases this happens within hours. The authors of BestCrypt, WhereIsIt,
and Advanced Disk Catalog have all indicated awareness of the cracking
scene.
Your best means of getting a working crack+application is as a warez
release.
Large programs that are not easily downloaded, such as CAD applications,
also
are more readily found as warez. If you cannot find a download URL and have
done a search with no results, assume that you need a warez release instead
of
a crack.
Another problem is crippled applications. If there is no place to enter a
serial number and features are missing, there is probably no way to crack
the
program. Your only solution is to get a retail copy from a warez group.
