How to use a crack? (alt.new.cracks)

i don't get it. there's no plain old serial/license code. after
downloading a crack, i get three files with names like: file_id.diz,
EAT.nfo, eatssm2c.rar. how do i activate this crack? any info (FAQ
location, etc.) would be much appreciated.
