I have a friend who is in about the same situation actually 2 friends. Ones
husband dropped dead at 56 years old and she had to sell the home and move
into an apartment with her son. She hadn't worked but was a housewife and
doesn't know how she is going to make it.
The other friend who has worked for years got laid off is unable to find
work and her unemployment is running out. This lady is raising her
grandaughter and has already had her car re-poed and she can't get help from
the government either. Lawyers tell her she has a great case for age
discrimination but all lawyers want money up front, that figures. Her doctor
told her she should be on disability because of a bad heart, asthma and a
degerative back but she can't even get a hearing for disability until
January. Makes you wonder where our taxes go doesn't it.
