Jazz musician Jay Leonhart, a one-time member of the group 'New York
Swing', recorded a version in 2004 for his album 'Cool'. That's my
best guess. However, here's a list of other male artists who have
recorded versions in the last decade, or so:
Carl Fontana (from his 1999 album 'Nice 'n' Easy)
Chad Lawson Trio (from their 2002 album 'Dear Dorothy: The Oz
Sessions')
D.C. Anderson (from his 1997 album 'Box Under the Bed' -- he's a folk
singer, so a less-likely candidate)
Hans Brehmer (from his 2001 album 'When God Was a Boy')
James Chirillo (from his 2000 album 'Sultry Serenade')
Jay Leonhart / Ken Peplowski / Ted Rosenthal (from their 1999 album
'Sensitive to the Touch' -- might be a better bet than most)
Jeremy Blue (from his 2002 album 'Embracing This' -- another folkie)
Jim Caruso (from his 2000 album 'Live and In Person')
Kenny Lee Lewis (from his 2002 album 'Get 2D Point')
Rick Della Ratta (from his 1997 album 'Thought Provoking')
Tom Wopat (the Dukes of Hazzard's very own) (from his 2005 album 'Tom
Wopat sings Harold Arlen...')
Willis Moore (from his 2000 album 'So Far')
Logan Medland (from his 2003 album 'Something in Blue')
Sam Arlen (from his 2005 album 'Arlen plays Arlen...')
Mandy Patinkin (from his 2001 album 'Kidults' -- probably a kids album)
Many of these artists are jazz performers, so it may be a stretch for
swing. But, here's to hoping one of them produced the recording you're
looking for.
