CLIFF, 65, TRIES THE US AGAIN
By Tony Purnell
from mirror.co.uk
SIR Cliff Richard is to audition in a New York pub at the age of 65 in yet
another bid to make it big in America.
The singer, who becomes a pensioner tomorrow, said: "Don't think for a
minute that I've abandoned my ambition to break through in the States."
He will sing songs from his latest album at Joe's Pub, which offers a
showcase for "up and comers" watched by music industry bosses.
Cliff has had 128 hits over six decades in Britain but in the US he is
virtually Mr Nobody.
His spokesman Bill Latham said: "It has always niggled him that he has
failed to make a success of things in America."
