Phil Collins Cans Oasis
from inthenews.co.uk
Critically harried musician Phil Collins has managed to get his own back on
Oasis, who have spent many an interview slagging him off, by putting the
Gallagher brothers into Room 101.
In the past the reliably outspoken Noel Gallagher has been more than vocal
about his dislike for the ex-Genesis drummer.
Before 1997's general election, Noel urged the country to vote Labour so
that Collins, who promised to leave the country should Blair get in, would
move to Switzerland.
Noel also eloquently said of the 55-year-old: "People f***ing hate c***s
like Phil Collins - and if they don't, they f***ing should."
The Oasis songwriter and guitarist recently spoke of his disbelief at how
successful Collins had been: "Why did he sell so many records in the '80s? I
mean, f***ing hell."
Noel does have a point however: during his career, Collins has sold a
staggering 314,000,000 albums, fact fans.
But, during the filming of the new series of Room 101, Collins got his
revenge, persuading presenter Paul Merton to put the Gallaghers into the sin
bin that is Room 101, reports the Daily Mirror.
"They're rude and not as talented as they think they are. I won't mince
words here but they've had a go at me personally," said Collins in a
measured and thoroughly unminced attack.
This episode of the show, in which celebrities discuss their personal
gripes, airs on September 14th, on BBC2.
