make money from shows, merchandise and such.
But, two things, the money labels recoup from a band is recieved from
"all" income streams. This includes internet downloads. So when you
download a free song (unless it is a promo from the label and is
actually free) you are making it that much harder for the band to get
paid from royalties.
Second, what if the band is completely indie and records, presses and
distributes themselves? Are you still screwing the big label?
BTW, I do not run my label the way other labels do.
