Yes. There are two major points that copyright protects against. The
first is, performance rights (you're safe here) which covers a band
playing the song live and the other is the mechanical rights (the right
to record a song) this is where you may get hit. The reality is that you
do not need to make money from a copyrighted song to need to get
permission, you always need permission.
