I've discovered in the last few days that Apple's iPod has stereo,
line-level, 96kHz recording capable and always has, just that Apple
don't support this in firmware (source http://www.ipodlinux.org/ who DO
support this, BTW) In response I've created a petition calling for
Apple to make iPod a full bandwidth recording device.
If it tickles your fancy, sign the petition here...

iPodLinux is all well and good for geeks, but non-technical users have
a right to a recordable model (even if it's just the top of the line
unit) that runs full bandwith recording in native firmware and comes
with a proper line-in cable, I reckon, especially considering it's
already there in hardware for linux geeks to find (and use!)
