The world's stars are joining forces to release a charity single in a bid to
raise millions for the tsunami relief fund.
Sir Cliff Richard, Boy George and opera singer Russell Watson will all sing
on the track, entitled Grief Never Grows Old, which they hope will raise
Other possibles include Jamie Cullum, Bee Gees Robin and Barry Gibb, Chris
Rea, Olivia Newton John and Ronan Keating.
The 'One World' project is being led by broadcaster Mike Read who had
already written the song.
He said: "It's a natural home for it because people kept saying to me, `it's
such a good song', but it's such a sad song."
He described the track as a slow ballad which did not need more than 10
artists.
He hopes the recording can be completed within a week and the backing track
has already been done.
Sir Cliff will record his part in Barbados, while Boy George will sing from
New York.
Read added: "I was totally shocked at the enormity and suddenness of the
disaster and in tears on seeing the orphaned children wandering aimlessly in
search of their parents."
All the money raised by the single will go to the DEC which has welcomed the
effort.
