Thank you. But please observe that what you've quoted is in
square brackets, just as it is in the file you found it in,
fxrelate.html. Also, if you'll look again at the latter
file, you'll see that the quoted passage is in green, and
it's indented..
Both the square brackets and the green color show that the
passage you've quoted has been added at some time in recent
years. It's unfortunate that interpolated revisions like
that aren't dated, but they could have been inserted any
time between about 2000 and today.
When I defined my procedure for updating Mark Israel's FAQ I
wanted to make quite clear the difference between Mark's
original material and the interpolated notes. That's the
reason I used indentation, square brackets, and a different
color for my interpolations.
I don't know for certain whether the present webmaster is
using the same conventions I used to make updates to Mark's
FAQ, but I hope so.
I don't remember adding the note about
alt.languages.english, so I suspect that the present
webmaster added it. I resigned as webmaster and Mike Barnes
took over in November 2001. I'm guessing that he added the
alt.languages.english note sometime after that, but I'm open
to correction.
