I think someone has said that nearly all messages posted to
alt.languages.english are crossposted to alt.usage.english
or alt.english.usage.
Downloading "all" messages from alt.languages.english, I
find 180 messages, 65 of which are posted exclusively to
alt.languages.english. But "nearly all" is a relative term.
My newsreader tells me that alt.languages.english is a new
newsgroup. It seems a shame that the people who established
it didn't put it in a respectable category of the Usenet
hierarchy like humanities. The "alt" category is looked
askance at by many people, and we've been told that some
Internet providers refuse to provide "any" alt groups.
