Well I don't know if commodore parry pushed Japan to go imperial (I went to
the town he docked in during the festival they host for him - Kurobume
Matsuri) I forget the damn town he docked in.. Jesus I need to play less
Dark Ages of Camelot and start to study Japanese again..I'm slackin.
Anaway, he did bring them the idea of modernizing. Did you see the film
John Wayne was in where he played Commorode Parry and fell in love with the
Japanese lady? Good flick.
I think that was the first - SHIMODA (now I remember) - time Japanese saw
Black people (slaves for perry at the time, nice huh).
America did kinda force Japan to get hoppin to the imperial age. I think we
know the whole story behind that. America pushed the Japanese diplomat at
the naval convention in London, he went back to Japan, the minister of the
Navy said to nut up, he went to the US, the US talked him out of a larger
navy, he went back to Japan, now the Navy really got pissed. Who can blame
them. Here was the world being eatin alive by westerners, and Japan was
missing out on the largest land grab known to man.
I wish Japan would re-militarize. Might do something for their economy and
young folk who are having trouble getting jobs. Who the hell wants to join
the jietai? A military with really no balls.
US is guilty of pleanty of crimes, current bs situation in the middle east
and terrorism as well. Don't get me started on that. I'm no lover of our
corrupt government (is that an oxymoron?).
You seem like a smart guy and should know by now, we can never learn from
history, no one likes history, not politicians anyway. They only care about
$$ and power. History to them is BORING. Mankind is like an end user at
your company. They can never figure out the difference between a screen
saver and background on their desktop. IDIOTS. 90% idiots 10% embracing
commen sense.
Nonetheless, Japan has it's issues, with or without Western
influence...probably because they follow the way of the warrior..

Tennou Heika Banzai! <- I dare anyone in Japan to run around and yell that!
