Its the chipset the card uses. If u buy one that says "built by" its exactly that.... "powered by"
means it was made by someone else who used the ati chipset. Its a case of personal preference
really. You might find that an MSI ati 9500 works best with your MSI motherboard... or whatever. The
generic cards are ok. I have an MSI GeForce4 Ti4600... works fine on my MSI mobo. There may be a
slight speed difference with the Built by cards but i aint seen it in the flesh so cant comment.
