I agree. The AI's big problem is that it couldn't handle sea power.
It did pretty well with Germany and the Soviets, but horribly with
everything else. As Japan, it would concentrate on China and attack
Alaska (good move) but ignore possible attacks on the Pacific islands.
As the US, it would concentrate almost exclusively on ferrying
infantry to England, with an occasional amphibious attack on Africa.
It would completely ignore the Pacific. As England, it would try to
set up amphibious attacks on Western Europe or Norway, to the
exclusion of everything else.
I look forward to a remake of A&A, even with the RTS elements.
Hopefully, the strategic AI will be DRASTICALLY improved.
