BTW: Does anyone have any "war stories" about how bad the AI was?
Personally, I think that the AI didn't handle projecting power via naval
forces in anyway other than a few pre-programmed routes. If you ever
noticed, if Germany was knocked out, the AI would render the UK effectively
useless, because it would not transport UK forces to the Pacific theatre.
Ever turn they would just buy stuff and maybe move it around Europe and the
North Atlantic.
The only way that I ever found the game close to challenging in solitaire
mode was to play 1 nation, and to set my allies to 3 stars (moronic) and my
enemies to 5 stars (kinda stupid). The challenge was in overcoming the
monumental ineffectiveness of your allies.
