Well, when me and my fiancee (now wife) bought a dining table for our
living room, I insisted on a big one suitable for boardgames with
several players. The table we got (thanks to Ikea) seats 6 (incl. 2 on
the short sides) players and can be extended on the short sides to add 2
more seats on each end, so you now can actually play two medium-sized
board games simulataneously - usually with two diferent groups.
After games' night, we just move in the extensions again and have
enough regular "living" room. Quite important if you live in an
apartment, not a house.
On the other hand, I agree that if you already have a nice dining
table, you probably don't want to buy a bigger one just for a few of
your games. However, *when* you buy new furniture, you might keep EG in
mind.
Cheers,
Michael
