Its Doom 3 for gods sake, how much security do you want for a title release.
This will be a massive release no matter the date. They have more to gain by
stalling the release date than by trying to go head to head with titles from
series that are more current and don't have the problem of appealing to
gamers who are to young to remember the previous releases. Come the middle
of September the release lists on all formats go into high gear and we will
see more reasons to spend money appear than we will scarcely know what to do
with, one more or less will not be a huge dissapointment especially as you
rightly point out we will all probably be playing Half Life 2 anyway.
