Smart Adds introduction sees Gizmondo price drop
Usually when you add a feature to a piece of hardware, you expect the
price to rise. At Gizmondo, we do things differently. We have just
finalised plans for our previously outlined Smart Adds programme,
which will make Gizmondo way cheaper to buy and save you a packet
through discounts and promotions.
Smart Adds are a method of delivering TV-quality promotions direct to
your Gizmondo, all specifically tailored to you and your tastes. They
are entertaining in themselves, but they also make it possible for you
to enjoy money off products you like to buy most, according to your
gender, age, location and personal preferences.
As of 22 April 2005, UK residents will be able to buy a special Smart
Adds-enabled Gizmondo, which still includes all the usual game play,
movie, music, messaging, GPS and digital camera functions of your
regular console, but with one major difference: the Smart Adds-enabled
Gizmondo will cost just 129UKP (245USD, 189 Euros). Smart Adds will
also entitle you to 20 free music downloads for the first 12 months,
as well as video downloads and exclusive film and games-related
content.
Additionally, there will be a Smart Adds-enabled Gizmondo Extra Value
pack available, for 199UKP (375USD, 289 Euros). This will include
premium extras for your Gizmondo, like HiFi headphones instead of
earbuds, a 128MB recordable SD card featuring content demos, a free
copy of game title Trailblazer, and a voucher for the highly
anticipated GPS game, Colors.
"We've enjoyed an accelerated success with the Gizmondo, and in doing
so have met the conditions we set ourselves for the introduction of
this Smart Add-enabled version of the device," said Carl Freer, Tiger
Telematics Co-founder and Chairman. "It's attractive to the consumer
not only because of the lower price point, but also as it could
effectively pay for itself in product discounts and free merchandise."
He continued: "We are very excited about the prospect of offering cool
advertising to our demographic. The MTV generation is here and is
receptive to fun messages that communicate brand and value. Through
Smart Adds we are approaching the ultimate paradigm of targeted
relevant digital advertising that is broadly recognised as the future
of marketing."

"Until last October, Christ had a very limited involvement in my life. I believed in God; I just never had to prove I believed. Belief is an absence of proof."
