Error Message:

**ERROR**: file pan-object.c: line 68 (pan_object_unref): assertion failed:
(o->ref_count>=0) aborting

This occurs when I attempt to - search for other newsgroups in:
news.octanews.com.  I CAN search in news.prodigy.net which is owned by the
infamous--- SBC . . no problem.

Last night, I removed (add/remove programs)PAN. Ran "regedit /v" and
removed all refernces to PAN.

Installed the GTK Library which is required--- first; then PAN.

I'll be damned! When I opened PAN - it was just as though I had never
removed it. :-(   The only items gone were all the headers in all the ng's.

I just finished an UPLOAD through Octanews to a.b.p.e.p==== and I CAN
download new headers to the groups I already subscribe to; therefore the
account is not terminated.

Is this a problem or a situation?  A problem can be solved.

Thanks.
