Solomon's Private File #447
1950's. Stephen wrote about his life in letters to a penpal, and then
in a secure blog, in case he lost his memory again, in the master
computer in his school for gifted students, which he started attending
in 2016 in a new incarnation, until his death. Now his son Solomon is
attending the same school, and is writing in his own secure blog for
his future incarnations.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Solomon is 35 in this story, in the Winter of 2061-2062.
Solomon's Private File #447 "Irish Priest Accused"
START Page
There was a man pointing a gun at a Catholic Priest in Northern
Ireland. I said to the Priest, "He's in time stasis. I did something
like this before, and arrangements were made so it didn't involve the
police, because the murderer's reason wasn't true. This time it is, but
you were the mistaken cause." He said, "So the boy WAS abused." I said,
"In the eyes of the law, yes. That he very much wanted it, isn't
appreciated by the law. This man needs to be punished, and the whole
issue be brought out into the open." He said, "I should agree to that."
I said, "There's a problem for you in that. The reason the boy picked
you to blame." He said, "Oh! Privileged?" I said, "That would really
have to be!" He grinned, and said, "So you do know. He noticed my
attraction to boys his age?" I said, "He did, and wasn't the only boy
who noticed. I know you've never done anything about that, but we need
to quash those rumors, or people won't care about the truth, in making
you a victim. And we have to do it without lying. In preparation, I
should clean your computer. I can put it all back after this dies
down."
He said, "You would do THAT? Wow!" I said, "If they would ever
examine the Vatican network, well, they're human, too. No, I don't
think that's a sufficient justification for you to plead to work
there." He had to laugh. I said, "Did you see my show on pornography?"
He said, "Oh, I remember. You don't oppose that, and er, my use of it.
That it can be beneficial to society in some circumstances." I said,
"Yes." He said, "It has, but it's been difficult to obtain new things
to keep my interest on them, and not on the real, er, thing." I said,
"I have some ideas for your er, thing issue. May I ask in my group?" He
said, "If it would help, yes, please." I said, "A lot of my people want
to help you. Strange ideas. Oh, don't look so hungry." He laughed, "I
could never have expected this!" I said, "Thank you." He laughed.
I said, "I'm going to talk to him. Ready?" He nodded. I released the
stasis, but held him in place. I said, "Mr. Murphy, the police are on
the way. Was this worth going to prison?" He said, "He raped my boy!" I
said, "Did you see that happen?" He said, "No, he told me." I said,
"Did he have a special reason for telling you that, at that particular
time?" He said, "I caught him making a younger boy do things to him. He
said he was just copying what the Priest did to him." I said, "Is your
son unusually intelligent?" He said proudly, "He is!" I said, I said,
"I thought so. Fast thinker, too. Have to admire him for that. Tell me,
do you know of any time your son was alone with the Priest?" He said,
"I don't remember, but there must have been." I said, "Why didn't you
go to the police about this?" He said, "Boy didn't want it in the
papers." I said, "And THIS wouldn't be?" He said, "Oh!" I said, "Did he
know you would do this? Did he try to stop you?" He said, "He knew. He
didn't say anything about not doing it." I said, "You're a strict
parent?" I said, "I am!"
I said, "Were you going to beat him for what you caught him doing?"
He said, "I sure was, but not after he told me about the Priest." I
said, "Neat way to get out of a beating, and lose a too strict parent,
all in a few words. VERY smart kid! Much smarter than you, obviously."
He sad confused, and said, "What do you mean? He lied to me?" I said,
"He sure did. Your Priest has never molested any child. But somebody
DID do sexual things with Paddy." He said, "Who? I'll kill him!" I
said, "His older brother. It wasn't abuse, but the law might think
differently. They loved it." He said, "They're God damn queers?" I
roared, "You will NOT take the Lord's name in vain, in His own House!
DO YOU HEAR ME?" He gulped, and said, "Oh! Yes sir, I do!" I said,
"Neither of them are homosexual. They just did it for fun and emotional
support. Sexual orientation doesn't have to rule a person. A preference
is not inability to do something not in the preference." The police
came in, and said, "I removed the primers from the rounds. Note the
depressed trigger. Attempted murder, and with a false justification.
Somebody hold the gun, so I can release him." That happened. I said,
"His younger son manipulated him into doing this, to avoid an unjust
beating. That boy needs correction!" Nods.
I said to Murphy, "You emotionally and physically abused your
children. That's why they found needed extra love and comfort with each
other, and they had very little love for YOU. You're the parent. You
caused your son to want to manipulate you into going to prison. Some
people would call that poetic justice. It's just sad." Priest said,
"Would you make this public? There are important lessons in this." I
said, "With your permission." He said, "You have it. I trust you to do
it well." Murphy said, "What about me! You're not going to ask me?" I
said, "I don't ask criminals about going public. They would all say no,
because they're criminals! You are not to touch your children in any
way, unless there is an emergency life saving issue. Not yours, theirs.
You hurt your wife, you'll feel it twice as much. If other prisoners
beat you, don't expect me to stop it." I gave them the recordings, and
they dragged them out.
Priest said, "Will they beat him?" I said, "Protestants would do it
as a matter of course. Catholics, for attempting to murder a Priest?
Them, too. Here's a crystal of what I removed from your computer. I put
more on it in separate sections, of all the things ever made and
published, that match your preferences. It only works for you. It has
another feature. On request, it can assist you er, physically, and do
the clean up." He said, "Wow!" I said, "Causes that." Grins. I said,
"This isn't the first time we've done something like this. There is a
kind of intelligent life form that don't have sex, but they are very
well able to sense the feelings of people who do it. We've enabled them
to have a new hobby. Trading of recordings of sexual experiences. Ours,
actually. We're very popular with them. Well, they were so deprived!"
He grinned through his total amazement, and said, "They're friends for
life?" I said, "Something like that. We love and help people. That's
who we are. And really not sexual prudes." He laughed.
I said, "That family needs work. Come with me to their flat?" He
said, "I will. To help, to be sure, but to watch YOU work, an
opportunity of a lifetime!" I said, "That's what we feel when my Mum
goes on an action." He grinned widely, and said, "I can absolutely join
you in that feeling!" I said, "You haven't seen her most interesting
actions. The few that have, I'm not sure they ever fully recovered.
Careful, or you might split your face right in half." He laughed. I
said, "Think we should have her with us?" He said, "Wow! I would love
that!" Mom ported in, and said, "Such an invitation, I can't refuse." I
said, "Was that a Jewish accent?" She said, "Yes, like it?" We grinned
and hugged. I said to him, "She was monitoring. Introductions not
I ported us to the door of their apartment. I knocked. I said to the
Priest, "Pat's home, but he's not hearing the knock." He tried not to
grin. The annoyed mother answer the door, and was VERY surprised. I
said, "May we come in and discuss a serious matter with you?" She said,
"Oh! Is it about my husband? Has he been injured?" I said, "No, he's
not been harmed, but he is partially why we're here. May we come in?"
She said, "Please." After we all sat, I said, "You're wondering why Pat
didn't answer the door. I didn't let him hear the knock. None of your
family is injured, but your husband has been arrested. When you're
ready, I'll play a recording of what happened." She nodded, and I
played it, carefully edited. She was in shock. Then she said to the
Priest, "I'm VERY sorry this happened!" He said, "I know. It's a sad
thing, but it shows that there is a serious family issue here, that Pat
needed to manipulate his father to kill an innocent person." She said,
"And the sex thing!" He said, "That's not an important issue, but why
they needed to comfort themselves by it, IS." She said, "What they did
isn't a sin?"
Mom said, "That's enough! He almost murdered a Priest! Your son made
him do it, and all you care about is a little harmless fooling around
in bed by lonely and abused children?" The mother was in shock. I said
to the Priest, "That's my Mum, right to the heart of the matter. She
doesn't beat around the bush, she smashes it flat." She said, "Darn
right I do!" I hugged her. I said to the mother, "Vatican policy is
that sex outside of marriage is a sin, which you and your husband quite
eagerly did with each other, and with others, and so do most people.
Don't be a hypocrite. Also, that masturbation isn't considered to be a
sex act, or a sin. That's what they were doing with each other." Priest
said, "That's correct."
I said, "NOW can we address the serious issues here?" She nodded
mutely. Mom said, "Did your husband beat you?" I said, "Don't be
afraid. It won't happen again." She whispered, "He did." I said, "May I
inform the police about that, so if he's released, he'll not be allowed
to relieve his anger here?" She said, "Oh! Thank you! Yes, please!" I
said, "Done. Hmm, they actually knew some of that. Seems you wouldn't
cooperate in a past investigation. That's over!" She nodded. I said,
"Your inaction with that, helped cause this current problem. Now to
that. What set your husband off this time, was he caught Pat doing
sexual things with a younger boy, who didn't understand what was
happening, and didn't really want to do it. Unfortunately, there was
nothing against the law in that. Pat and Sean did that with each other,
and they both really wanted to, but that was against the law, because
of the age difference. Sean is considered an adult, in this issue. All
this is going to be exposed in the media, and may result in criminal
prosecution. Do you understand so far?"
She said, "I'm a little confused. Pat and Sean did something against
the law, but you say it wasn't bad, and, Pat did it with another boy,
and it wasn't against the law, but you say it was bad?" I said, "Yes,
you do understand it. The law is a very general thing, that tries to
protect people, but people are very much individuals. As a
psychologist, I know what's harmful and what isn't, in specific cases,
that the law is unable to know. They don't call justice blind, for
nothing." She said, "I understand it better. Thank you." I said,
"You're smarter than you give yourself credit for. Husband says you're
not, don't believe him." Mom nodded, and they hugged.
I said, "The incident in the church is going to be broadcast, as is
my policy. That won't provide a true picture of this family. This
discussion will help in that, AND help other families in similar
trouble. Yes, you can help a lot of people. You should know the police
are going to want to question Pat. Sometimes that could be a little
less pleasant than it needs to be in suspected child abuse cases. But
mother tried not to laugh.
I said, "Next, we need to talk to Pat and Sean. Sean's with friends.
Do I have your permission to require his presence here?" She grinned,
and said, "Oh yes!" I said, "You don't have to be so sad about that."
Another poke. I said to Mom, "Is this going to be a habit with you?"
She said, "Well see." I said, "Don't look." Chuckles. I said in Sean's
ear, "This is Solomon. Only you and I can hear me where you are. Your
mother can hear me at home. She requires you to be at home,
immediately. If you will move to a more private location, I'll port
you. Don't do that fast enough, I'll port your clothes, first. Your
mother laughed." He almost did, too. When he was ready, I ported him to
the living room. I said to the mother, "May I ask Pat to join us?" She
said, "Please." I said to Sean, "Watch him carefully. His reaction is
going to be very interesting, when he sees us."
I said in the air, in Pat's room that he shares with his brother,
"This is Solomon. Your mother requires you to be in the front room." He
said, "Do you know what's it about?" I said, "I know all, so of course
I do. You're father has been arrested. So, put on some clothes, and
come to the meeting." He covered himself. I said, "Why do they cover up
what they know the other person already saw?" He said, "I don't know."
He got dressed in a hurry, and came out and into the hall, and stopped
dead on seeing the Priest, and tried to run back into his room, and hit
a soft invisible wall. I said to him, "What were you going to do, jump
out the window? Wait till you grow wings, first. There's no way you can
escape this, so you might as well take it like a responsible person.
Don't make it worse. Your brother doesn't know. If you want, you can
tell him before I do. Better be the truth." He walked in, and sat in
the chair with his brother. There wasn't room, and they clearly didn't
think that was bad.
I said to him, "Do you know about the special consequence I give to
people who kill a holy person who doesn't express violence or hate?" He
said, "I do. They really suffer!" I said, "But what if they want to
kill a holy person who DOES do and promote violence? For some of those
I do let them be killed. That can include child molesters. Note that
Father O'Malley isn't dead, and your father isn't here?" He gulped and
nodded. I said, "Anything to say?" He shook his head. I said, "Doing
the right thing, will count in your favor." Silence. I said, "Then I'll
show you what happened." I played the edited church action. Sean said,
"Oh, Paddy, you didn't!" He said, "I had to!" They both cried, and
hugged.
I said, "Now I'm going to show the discussion we had before you
joined us." I played that. The boys had a lot of different feelings
showing on their faces. Then Pat said, "That's going to be on the
TELLY? I said, "What your father did, and the reason for it, can't be
kept quiet. In these kinds of things, it's best to make the publicity,
as much as possible, your own, before somebody does it their way, that
you really wouldn't like. Famous people pay experts to do it for them.
You can't afford that. I'm free." They looked at me strangely. Then
Sean said, "It's crazy, but that makes sense." I said, "Oh thanks."
Chuckles. I said to Pat, "You have a problem in not considering and
respecting the feelings of other people enough. That's not totally your
fault, with how your father was to you, but you CAN do better. Some
proper counseling is needed. I suggest you ask for it, before the
authorities require it. If it costs, the Church will help with that."
Priest said, "We will."
I said to Pat, "You wronged Father O'Malley." He said to the Priest,
"Father, I was wrong! I'm VERY sorry." Priest said, "I accept your
apology, but you committed a serious sin. Solomon says that to commit a
sin against a holy person, is not just a sin against that person, but
is also a sin against God. I don't know as a man, how holy I am, if at
all, but in my office as a Priest of the Church, I represent God, and
that makes me Holy to Him. You should Confess. And that to another
Priest, and do what he says about this. No, not me. I'm personally
involved, so I shouldn't. You should know I still love you, as I do all
the people I serve in God's name." Pat cried. Sean hugged him.
Sean said, "Solomon, may I ask you a question?" I said, "Sure, if you
don't mind answers that lead to more questions." He smiled, and said,
"This won't. In the Bible, Jesus said things on the cross. Could he
really do that?" I said, "Yes and no. After a few minutes, a crucified
person can't talk loud enough to be heard, even if the area is quiet,
which it wasn't. But, he had a very powerful mind. Some psionically
sensitive people could have heard something from him, if they were
close by, but they weren't. The Romans never allowed anybody but Romans
in the area of crucifixions. One more thing. You've used a claw hammer
to remove a nail." He said, "Yes." I said, "They used foot long spikes,
driven deep into the hard wood. How do you think they got them out?" He
said, "Oh! That would crush bones! A gigantic prisebar!" I said, "And a
living person would show some reaction to that, not just bleed
profusely, and then be killed straight away. So you see, one doesn't
need video recordings to know what happened. Intelligence is all you
really need, but seldom used in thinking about religious things. But he
was STILL one of the greatest and holiest people who ever lived, who we
can and should learn from, who willingly died in sacrifice for his
people." Priest said, "Amen." I said, "Oops." Mom grinned, and said,
"Unintentional preaching."
Priest said, "Is this part going public?" I said, "I did say that."
He said, "Good!" I said, "Who didn't expect that from you?" Chuckles. I
said to the boys, "You two need to have a heart to heart discussion.
You need to plan for possible futures. Then you need to talk that over
with your mother. She'll need help, now that your father isn't here.
You know that's your duty." Nods. I said, "To the bedroom with you." I
went with them. After I closed the door, I said, "You know what can
happen in my hugs. I thought you wouldn't want them to see that." Sean
said, "Oh! Thank you!" He hugged me, and did ejaculate. I cleaned it
up. Pat said, "What happens?" Sean looked down, and Pat said, "Oh!" I
said, "Not always, but sometimes in the first hug with me. Women, too,
and they can be pretty loud about it. Hmm, already?" Pat laughed, and
we hugged, to the same result. He said, "Wow!" I said, "Included."
Grins. He said, "Will you come again?" I rolled my eyes at that, and
laughed more.
I went back to the others. Mom had already explained why I was alone
with them for the hugs. They were still smiling. They stood, and Mom
hugged the mother, and said, "I'll be watching out for you and your
family. Sol knows that's what I want." I nodded. I hugged the mother,
with no surprise. I said to the Priest, "Back?" He nodded, and I ported
us back to where we started. I said, "Pope's going to get the recording
before CNN." He said, "Good. As you showed?" I said, "Yes, and with
what happened in the home. Not in the bedroom. Or here, now." He
grinned, and we hugged, and what we both expected, happened, which I
cleaned up. I said, "I feel like some strange kind of sex doll in
this." He laughed, and said, "If only I could." I said, "Human nature.
We complain about what we have, and others complain that they don't
have it. What a world!" Grins and chuckles. George said in my mind,
"Amen!" I shifted out.
I ported a crystal to Paolo. He noticed it, and after reading it, he
said, "Thank you!" I said in the air, "You're welcome. Don't do it
again. Whatever you were doing." He laughed. I gave it to the BBC, and
said, "I won't be with it. Run it or not, as you choose, but with no
edits." He said, "We won't. Legal issues with an ongoing case." I said,
"As you wish." He said, "It's very much not my wish." I said, "Right.
Now to CNN." Grins. I said the same there, and he said, "We'll run it!
Important lessons." I said, "And a lot for discussions. Pope's already
seen it." He said, "Good. Thank you!" We hugged. At home, Mom said,
"Thanks for including me." I said, "We're different people, with
different missions. That can multiply what we do together in situations
like this. And you really want to, so I want that for you." She said,
There were some good discussions about that action. Some of that
really annoyed the police there. I told them privately, "You know what
I want. You know what could happen otherwise. I work for the good of
all, which isn't always exactly what the very imperfect legal system
agrees with. Nothing in reality is perfect, but my Boss IS. Until he
corrects me, you should assume I am as He is, in that, in my working
actions." Captain, said, "I hadn't thought of that. I apologize. Thank
you." We shook hands, and I shifted out. He was grateful we didn't hug
in front of his men. I sent him some humor about that after I left,
which he appreciated.
