Well, maybe I`m an anonymous nobody but that doesn't mean I can't meditate
about certain things. It happens that I recently saw the film 'the kite
runner' -yes, the one with the rape- and it happens that the movie left on
me some disturbing dilemmas.
If anyone here watched the film, and wants to contribute to this post
(correcting me, objurgating me or simply answering one or more questions) I
would gladly appreciate it. Of course, the USA-partners are doubly invited
to do this, cause I really have very few interest in attacking their
country, but yes the way the things are. Bytheway, trolls are also invited,
his obtuseness can be illuminating in an outstanding manner.
I redacted some of the questions behind which I wield my accusation. If you
didn't watch the film, perhaps you'd prefer stop reading right now... The
questions:
-is it honest or faithful to reality the charming, americanized vision of
Kabul at the beginning of the film?
-is it honest or faithful to reality the apocalyptic glance of Kabul at the
end of the film?
-is there in the film certain inclination to make apology of the american
values while the islamic ones are pointed not only as obsolete but also as
abject? -once again Hollywood rejects what is unknown to him-
-is it honest or faithful to reality that the main characters had more
american/judeochristian profiles than islamic profiles?
-is it honest or faithful to reality that the 'bad guys' -really, really
bad- were not only talibans, but also pederasts (two birds on a shot for
uncle Sam, lol)? But, what do I say? Not only pederast, but really twisted
paedophiles. The very bad guy has everything to irritate the audience: he
is rich, extremist and a raper. And as a raper he's all a champion, he
rapes a lot of boys, including a father and his son, curiously protagonists
of the story...something unforgivable for the reactionary middle american.
All this brings another consequent questions...
**if the bad guy didn't die (only hurted) at the end... is this a way to
raise revenge feelings on the spectator?
**if the last shot of the movie shows the lonely -and abused- boy over a
hill, with a shadow of torment on his face... is this a way to raise
revenge feelings on the spectator?
**if the boy was not only raped, but also obliged to act as a slave, as a
concubine... is this a way to raise undoubtable revenge feelings on the
spectator?
-what's the narrative sense of 'rape' in this story? I mean, couldn't rape
have been replaced by any other concept or crime? It could indeed, but not
by other so controversial and actually rejected, don't you think?
-appart from making money, what can be the purpose of a film financed by
the USA, with USA characters, relating a USA story, and located precisely
in Afghanistan? holy snowballs!
-Who has spread the rumour that the young actors are in risk in his
country???
-how long ago was written the book 'The kite runner'? Not much ago, I would
say.
-how often does it snow in Kabul? :P
-are all the talibans pederasts? and what about afghans?
-how much is the customs charge for passing an arabian boy to the USA? (it
seems so easy in the movie...)
-has 'The kite runner' been awarded already with the Golden globe?
-has 'The kite runner' been awarded already with the Oscar?
Obviously I can't hide my oppinion about it. For me this film is a dirty
propaganda practice. Dirty because is subtle, and many people is passing
'through the ring'. Well, it's true that most of the people are just stupid
automatons, but it's sad anyway, cause with the support of the populus, a
military potency can do a lot of harm. It's quite clear that the White
House is very interested in attacking Iran and taking control of
Afghanistan, so.. again an infamous campaign to 'save' humanity from
another 'dangerous' minority. Afghanistan can be another step in the rush
on petrol, can't it? Hail Goebbles!
The war on terror has similar features than the war on paedophiles -pedos,
boylovers, predators or whatever- cause they are using all the same kind of
propaganda and mediatic power to judge us and sentence us. Think on that.
Today 12000 people have been charged in Germany, what a fucking world.
I just hope some reflection about it, and corrections if necessary too.
excuse my grammar
God Save His Majesty the King
God Preserve the Prince of Asturias
