Hi BD Its been a while since I last used Irfranview , seem to remember
it as a video viewer primarily.
I use mostly Digital photo professional which is Canon software, supplied
with their cameras, I also use adobe cs and ACDC
it is possible to do both a resize and compression at the same time with
all these programmes maybe you got some software with your camera that
will do the job?
It is best to batch compress and resize an entire folder in one hit, and
for reference with more than one file size of the same photo it may be
a good idea to rename them adding (rs) to the end of your file numbers
to avoid confusion.
