So far, I have been lucky in that my ISP's news feed allows me to READ
all the posts here and post text messages. However, it limits me in
that I am unable to post binaries here. I have yet to test binary
posts on other groups, but it is an example of a possibility you might
want to look into. In another group, a lady poster suggests using ISP
news feeds, whe possible, and gives an alternative of one-shot servers
that sell you bandwidth by the gigabyte a second source to download
from. If you are downloading only from here, this might work for you.
I quote from her:
You can find a few servers that are ONE TIME ONLY FEES until you use
up the MB.
For example:
Usenet-News - several GB prices - http://usenet-news.net
NewsFusion - pay as you go - $6.00 and up - http://www.newsfusion.net/
Octanews - one time &7.95 and up - http://www.octanews.com/pricing/
AstraWeb - one time $10 for 25GB -
http://www.news.astraweb.com/index.html
FlashNewsGroups - https://www.flashnewsgroups.com/
BuzzardNews - http://www.buzzardnews.com
Good luck finding what you need.
