The .001, .002, .003 files can be joined up together and viewed even if
incomplete (incomplete as in you have parts 1-10, but missing 11-20.)
However a RAR file that is incomplete in the same way CAN be opened up
(which is something that people are probably unaware of. I was until I was
told about this method.) Simply right click on either the partially
completed RAR file or on the part1 RAR file (it works on both) and select
extract file. And now all you have to do is select Keep Broken files and
then carry on as normal and it will extract the file even though it is
incomplete. PLEASE NOTE!!! If there is a bit missing in the middle (say
you have parts 1-9, missing 10 and have 10-12) both methods (part1 and
.001) will not work as it will only extract the files up to part 9 as RAR
files do not like missing sections. Incomplete files it can cope with, but
it hates missing sections.
Hope this helps.
