Dear Victor
To allay your curiosity, I submit this missive by way of explanation.
I was in a melancholy mood and dwelling on the events of my life and
that of other boys in bygone days. When I came to a realisation that
while ever we hold them in our hearts the boys of the past are not
really gone. They come and visit us in our nostalgic moments.
Here you see one such lad who has come to visit a modern child. In
their own worlds, seperated by time, they have similar hopes and
dreams. So it came to me that this is true for all boys everywhere and
everywhen. It would be nice to chat with a boy from a hundred years
past just as it would be nice to chat with a boy from a hundred years
hence.
This is my attempt to express that thought.
sincerely yours
Jeroen

"Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should."
