Dearest Friends in Affection,
I begin the next presentation at the Galleries with one particular, and
Tragically poignant
Photograph pulled from its proper place
To receive
Special Commentary. I have always appreciated the fact
That mortuary photography was once quite the fashion, but
Concurrently have always found it coldly melancholy and morbid.
This portrait of a young Polish lad,
Marks the monument
Above the grave
In which he lies,
Leaving his mother,
To beg how God could be so cruel,
And passing strangers
To avert their gaze
From the sadaness
Of his warm smile.
With this said, so you might know.
