Dear Friends in Affection,
Take heart, my friends! It is just that. Love. Apparently, an
eternal love as well.

Cutting out from the rough-house game,
shirt flying, hair wild, breathless,
hot and damp with sweat,
the young boy collapses into the long,
cool grass and contemplates
the little pink and yellow flowers.
But abruptly he jumps up with
contorted mouth and shocked eyes,
searching his arm for the cause of
an unbearable, burning pain.
"A bee, a bee!" he cries out.
"A bee has stung me!"
A kind stranger unnoticed
on a park bench nearby rises
and hurries to the boy. He gently
takes the boy's arm and points
to the sting. "Yes, you have been
stung! Here is the sting! It needs
You will be OK, don't worry! But, sonny,
if you think this pain was bad,
caused by a little bee,
think how it must be for me,
stung by your beauty!"
