Thank you for your comments and your advice, Floppy.
I would agree with most of your assertions, if no other reason than
acknowledging my own ignorance regarding the hazards of java script. I
would further state that even the most stringent security efforts can
be subverted by those with the power to do so. The use of a password
is merely one more step one must take to gain access to the posted
files. Generally I do not request them but through a third party
known to me. The very act of emailing an individual, even through an
anonymous account, to request a password is a rather dicey act,
insomuch as one never knows what is on the other side of the wall.
Furthermore, those who provide the passwords at the request of
anonymous lurkers delude themselves into thinking they are in some way
protected, whether they are violating copyright or posting illegal
materials.
I am no one to give advice regarding security, other than to say that
passwords and the such are next to worthless should someone post
illegal materials and unnecessary should someone wish to post
materials that are not, by law, illegal ... however they may offend
your pastor.
I was tempted to respond to your hushmail addie, but discovered you do
not have one. LOL.
My best to you,
