I must admit, that every year I have a bunch of new year's resolutions which
I don't manage to keep for that long, but at least in the mean time they
give some improvement which lasts for some time, and which means that it's
better than not resolving at all.
For instance, my wife usually laughs at my New Years diets. Usually they are
all over by March, and I go back to normal eating levels, and this happens
every year, so she says it's always the same song, you'll never get down to
your goal weight. To this I reply, that if I lose a stone a year, ok, I put
it back on later, but if I never did that I'd weigh ten stone more than I do
now, then I'd keel over and die.
Anyway, this year, I have the usual dietary ones, I also need to save money
as finishing the new flat is costing a lot more than I thought it would, and
I also thought it might be another good time to reduce my time spent on the
computer, at any rate on Usenet, and cut down the number of games I do on
www.itsyourturn.com also. So I shall be signing off for now. I don't say
goodbye forever, just for as long as I manage to keep the resolution. You
can take bets amongst yourselves on how long or short that will be. In any
event I hope to use the time to do other more useful things, like spending
more time with my kids and getting more exercise.
God bless everyone here in 2005. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.
Bye for now.
