Wow. You really reject the evidence of the world if it conflics with

And why is it important that these periods be twenty-four hours?

To be consistent, I would think you have to believe that God has two
arms, two legs, ten fingers, toes, etc. Otherwise you're allowing
that some of the references in Genesis 1 and 2 are spiritual rather
than physical, and you offer no reason to choose the latter.

Which moment? You said six days before.
