Since I thought of it, I get to name the unit.
One 'davey' is a word or set phrase having the power of a lexical unit, and
all the grammar that attaches uniquely to that word (ie. its
irregulartities).
A kilodavey is a thousand of them.

be = verb of status, introduces passive voice.
otherwise = in another manner to one already stated
explained = accounted for.
