I smoked from the time I was 16 years old, making it 49 years that I smoked
a pack a day most times. Tried to quit a number of times and was
unsuccessful. My doctor prescribed Welbutrin to help me quit and I tried it
for 6 days. Had to stop the Welbutrin, it was making me very dark. I just
reached a point where I'd had enough (smoking, that is). Lungs hurt all the
time, I had a really cavernous, juicy cough that went on 24/7, and wheezed
just walking across the room. Not to mention the obscene price of
cigarettes! Jayzus Murphy Jones, $42 per carton and me on a fixed income!!
It's been 3 weeks and I haven't felt this good in years. No matter how bad
the temptation to have "just one drag", all I have to do is remember how bad
I felt before I quit.
Good on ya for quitting!! It's hard to do when you're really and truly
hooked!!
