Solomon's Private File #266
These stories about Stephen and Solomon take place starting in
1950's. Stephen wrote about his life in letters to a penpal, and then
in a secure blog, in case he lost his memory again, in the master
computer in his school for gifted students, which he started attending
in 2016 in a new incarnation, until his death. Now his son Solomon is
attending the same school, and is writing in his own secure blog for
his future incarnations.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Solomon is 27 in this story, in the Winter of 2053-2054.

I shifted to the office in Atlanta, of the Catholic Priest I met in
the welfare show. I said, "So, do we use titles?" I said, "You who
don't want them for you, and call the Pope just by his first name, kind
of rule in that here. I'm Darius." I said, "Famous name." He grinned,
and said, "So I've heard." I said, "Popular name in Lithuania." He
said, "You sure do know a lot." I said, "I have to agree. So you're the
official representative of the Vatican to me. They actually need one?"
surprises better." I said, "I just put a note on his nightstand,
saying, 'Private to the Pope. Meeting with your newly assigned rep.
You're a blatant coward! With love, Sol.' If you see him in person
after this, check his neck for a scar. Then you'll know if he laughed
so hard at this, his head fell off." He looked at me with a series of
odd expressions, made more so when he noticed me studying them.
I said with a grin, "Did you think this was going to be easy?" He
said, "Actually, I did." I said, "Want to back out?" He said, "Er, no."
I said, "Good. Pope wouldn't let you. No, I had no idea he was going to
do this, until he did." He said, "I'm going to have to do some thinking
about this." I said, "Always." He hid his surprise, and said, "Oh. It's
for ME." I said, "Like everything else, it's for who makes it so." He
nodded thoughtfully. I said, "So, why do you think he chose you?" He
said, "I have to think it has something to do with my report on you." I
said, "Reasonable. Do you think I've seen it?" He said, "Did anybody
show it to you?" I said, "No, and I didn't look for it."
He said, "I'm confused." I said, "You've heard that I know everything
on Earth, as God does for all the multiverse?" He said, "Oh. I
said, "That's fantastic!" I said, "Hmm, then I shouldn't tell you the
rest." He said, "Please tell me!" I said, "First, when I say all, I
really mean all, down to subatomic particles science hasn't even
thought of, and including the energy that's involved in that, and even
the energy of thought. I see all matter and energy, but it's not
exactly seeing, and it's not just for the Earth, but for the whole
solar system. Oops, I didn't tell my people that extent. REALLY noisy
comments in my head now." He tried to smile.
I said, "I understand all I see. Now here's the important part. It's
part of me. I don't actually do this. No effort. I just know,
continuously. And that includes the whole of each person, including all
memories, and even their past lives. I feel as they feel. When they
hurt, I feel their pain, when they're happy, I feel that, too. All that
is why the Corps can work. I give them the assignments, or they
wouldn't know what they should fix." He said, "Oh! That makes sense." I
formality will interfere with our relationship. Think of it this way.
Banter is a useful tool for sharpening the mind. Debate, also. A word
of warning. Lying REALLY won't work with me, and it damages the mind. I
hope you won't want to do that." He said, "That I can understand!"
He said, "You know all this. And you can see the past. Can you see
the future?" I said, "I can see some futures. The more I'm personally
involved in them, the less I can see, because doing that, causes
changes. Works much better when I do offworld missions as an outsider.
There I can see the future changing as I work. Very helpful." He said,
"Could you explain different futures?" I said, "Time lines based on
probability. Clear, with more probability, less clear the more unlikely
it will happen. Works best with large groups. Individuals, not so much.
Too many possible interactions." He said, "So you don't know my
future." I said, "If I did, I wouldn't tell you, because that would
change it, but I didn't, so it won't. Don't try to figure that out. A
real mess." He grinned and chuckled, and said, "I suppose so."
I said, "But then, there is a special talent that can predict the
real future that only God knows. Called the Oracle Talent. You ask the
person who has it, sharply and precisely, and he'll tell you
involuntarily. Problem is what he says is usually so cryptic, it's not
understood until the event happens, and we say, 'So that's what he
meant'. We call it the Cassandra Curse." He said, "Fitting." I said,
"We had an Adept with that talent. He predicted how my father would
reincarnate, although they didn't understand that then, and that Paolo
would be Pope, which was VERY clear. No, we can't ask him now. He died
at my wedding." He said, "But that was Chad. He wasn't an Adept." I
said, "He was, in secret. They kept it that way, so he could become a
real doctor in the open. Most powerful after my father, of our
founders. Still a secret, though." He said, "Oh. Thank you." I said,
"We don't need to do that now that I'm an MD, so I can certify births
and deaths for our group." He said, "But what, er, excuse me, about
when you die?" I said, "I see that more of what I've said isn't real to
you." He said, "You really can't die?" I said, "True. But, I can do
something like it. I can put myself into a frozen time bubble that will
only stop existing when all time and space ends. My people are er,
shocked silent." He said, "Wow!" I said, "I finally got you to say it!"
He looked very strange. I said, "No, I didn't say it for that.
Anyway, I'm not going to escape my curse that way. In any way. I'm
needed. A LOT of work to do. I'm doing it with thousands of personal
presences in many galaxies and dimensions, at the same time." He said,
"I just can't imagine that!" I said, "Probably just as well. In fact,
we should end this for today. Too many shocks could cause some er,
confusion." He said, "Definitely!
I said, "But I do have a question. In your religion here, don't you
feel a little outnumbered?" He grinned, and said, "Small Parish, yes.
More intimate. I know all of them. I like that." I said, "For me, the
whole world is my Parish." He nodded, and said, "I knew that. A
question. God has said that to love you is to love Him." I said, "Yes
He did. Many embarrassing times." He said, "Does that apply to God's
Grace?" I said, "It does, and it has, and in a meeting I was commanded
to arrange, the Baptists were told to er, not keep that secret. Yes,
Pope and Cardinals know. It will trickle down eventually. Hierarchies!
Hmm, a possible new cuss word." He had to grin.
We stood, and I offered to hug, and he did. I helped him to sit. I
said, "Next week?" He said, "Yes. Thank you!" I said with an evil grin,
"You might change your mind about that!" He had to laugh. I shifted
away. A week later I shifted to his office. We did the greetings. He
said, "You know." I said, "Better if we assume I don't, or things will
get REALLY confusing. One way knowledge doesn't a good conversation
make." He said, "Oh! I didn't think of that." I grinned. He was
embarrassed. I said, "Not your fault. I'm the one with the unusual
situation, so I HAD to think about it." He said, "Right. What you said
about Grace is becoming more public. Some actually achieved it though
you, like Jesus?" I said, "Yes, but not exactly as you think. A few
did, but most in my presence did it directly with a little coaching. In
the Bible, Jesus is quoted as saying ONLY through him. That was
actually sacrilege. He would never have said that, and he didn't. He
said the opposite, which the hierarchy did NOT want people to know, and
put them out of power. That they can do it through me, is because God
has made my love to be like his, so it can work that way. Even then,
it's really to God, and from God, that Grace happens. I can help, but
that's all."
He said, "Will people believe that's all?" I said, "No. Most won't.
Can't. Basic psychology. Invisible beings aren't real below the
conscious of a person. People instinctively need to have something
real, that they can see, to worship, and real people, optimally. You
should know that. How many people worship statues of the mother of
Jesus, who did nothing worthy of that but to give birth?" He said, "I
have to admit it, yes." I said, "You'd better, who bow to a statue of a
man being tortured to death." My smile, made that seem to not be so
much of an insult. I said, "That hurts a LOT, by the way. Good thing I
don't have to go through that again. No, I wasn't him, but he was only
one of many thousands they crucified. People tend to disregard that.
And more. Jesus was a great man, but he wasn't unique in the kind of
life he had, and his message. He wasn't the first or the last of the
Messiahs the Romans crucified, but he did have the best writers." He
said, "Oh! What an education!" I said, "Er, thanks. One more thing
about that. There was one the Romans didn't kill. He wouldn't claim to
have been smart about that, because he didn't consider that. He taught,
but not in public, which is what caused the Romans to act."
He said, "Who was he? I have to know!" I said, "He was the first of
the real Roman era Messiahs. The others used his teachings. Yes,
including Jesus, although they never met. He died when Jesus was around
ten years old. I know that man well. I was him. Hillel." he said, "Oh!
That makes total sense! We've all been studying him. Er, because of
you." I said, "Romans did want to question him fifteen years before he
died, while they were investigating one they were going to crucify, but
he was sick and old, and looked sicker and older, with some assistance
he wasn't aware of. They didn't bother. I didn't even know about it,
then." He said, "Does the Pope know about this?" I said, "Nope. First
time discussing this. You know why I don't want this public." He
gulped, and said, "It just struck me. Wow!" I said, "Bad enough I was
the second and third most Holy people of Islam in the past. Many
suspect it, but I won't verify it. Past lives are only history. Last
adult Jesus incarnation was a woman in Sri Lanka who became
enlightened. Previous Pope was The Prophet Muhammed. Religious people
do switch around a lot between lives. Seems God likes variety for us.
Better ration the wows, before you wear them out." He chuckled.
I said, "Your list feeling lonely?" He was embarrassed, and said, "It
might. Would you give a recording of this meeting to the Pope?" I said,
"If you want, all of them." He said, "I would, please." I said, "My
father did that with Paolo, with HIS Pope. Convenient. Have you seen
the released er, history?" He said, "I know what you mean. No, I
haven't." I grinned. He was embarrassed. I said, "The Cardinals have.
Didn't boil their eyeballs." He looked at me strangely, and said, "I
don't know if I'll ever get used to that." I said, "Good."
I said, "Proposal of a service. A crystal recording of our meetings,
for reference, updated as needed." He said, "I should have asked for
that." I made a very fancy cross on a chain, but without the torture,
and gave it to him. I told him what it was made of, and said, "This gem
has my love, and will have our meetings. This one has my published
actions. This one has some unpublished actions. All will be updated
with appropriate things. This has some historical things. My
unpublished actions are privileged communications." He said, "I
understand. Clerical and psychological consulting." I said, "Yes. Don't
try to read all that at once. It won't work if you overdue it. Built in
safety feature." He grinned and said, "What you said to Congress!" I
said, "And planned in advance, too." Chuckles. He said, "I can't wear
that, it's too rich for me!" I said, "That's what Paolo said when my
father gave him his. Tough."
I said, "All I give you in that, will be in this for the Pope." I
showed him a big blue sapphire Star of David in a gold and platinum
mount, surrounded in a circle by twelve different color gems cut en
cabochon. It was on a gold chain. He said, "That's beautiful! Twelve
tribes?" I said, "Thanks. Yes. Something different for him. Known as
the Seal of Solomon." He said, "Wasn't that a ring?" I said, "It was,
but it had a stone in it, not a star. The actual symbol was something
like a seal in action, though. By the way, I now have the stone that
was in the ring." He said, "All legends of that incarnation are almost
required reading for us now. Could the ring do what was claimed?" I
said, "Yes and no. It could enhance some abilities in people my group
would now call beginner Adepts. A focusing stone, called by some.
They've been known throughout history, and on other planets as well. A
lot of my father's science is based on crystals and gems." He nodded,
and said, "Also known in part in the past." I said, "Very true. But
said, "Absolutely!" We grinned.
I said, "In the action stone, is part of the history of the Van, and
what became of them that hasn't yet been published. You'll see part of
why." He said, "Are you ever going to publish the whole life of Jesus?"
I said, "Only if the Pope requests that in public. Oh, he's not going
to be deliriously happy with THAT!" His strained chuckle sounded very
strange. I said, "He knows how God feels about truth." He said, "Oh!
I said, "This should be all for today. You have a lot of reading and
thinking to do. We'll keep in touch. If you survive that." Smiles. We
hugged. I shifted out.
I asked to see the Pope, and shifted to the private meeting. I said,
"Poor Darius." He tried not to grin, and said, "Like I was?" I said,
"Different, but similar in effect. He asked me to give you recordings
of the meetings." I gave him the star. He said, "It's beautiful! Twelve
Tribes?" I said, "Yes. Something different. You already have a cross
from us. Partial explanation in the meeting recording. I gave him a
cross, but without the torture. Same reaction." He grinned. I said,
"Why him?" He said, "You read his report?" I said, "Knowing all, and
without effort, I didn't have to read it. Discussion of me in that, in
the first meeting." He said, "Oh! So I'm being educated, too." I just
grinned, and said, "I see. I should have known." I said, "Yes you
should have." More smiles.
I said, "Still doesn't explain why him." He said, "Just a feeling.
I've learned from your father and you to trust them." I said, "Ah, feel
for world peace." He said, "I've tried." I said, "We are not to have
it." He said, "I figured that out. We advance through hardship." I
said, "Yes. Not fun. Anyway, I think you've got some reading to do.
Going to be some surprises. Good and bad, well, from your point of
view. Want to talk, hold the star and say my name. Oh, and it won't
want to go missing." He grinned widely. We hugged.
