Solomon's Private File #161
These stories about Stephen and Solomon take place starting in
1950's. Stephen wrote about his life in letters to a penpal, and then
in a secure blog, in case he lost his memory again, in the master
computer in his school for gifted students, which he started attending
in 2016 in a new incarnation, until his death. Now his son Solomon is
attending the same school, and is writing in his own secure blog for
his future incarnations.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Solomon is 21 in this story, in the Fall of 2047.

My comments about American pride were not well received in America. I
composed another comment. I said, "Pride is bad, if expressed. If you
have it, keep it to yourselves. If you don't, you will cause in other
people, resentment, jealousy, and anger. Now that you know this, all
will know that if you insist on expressing pride, you fully intend to
cause them to feel that way, which is hurtful and mean. That is not how
good people, good neighbors, act toward others. Some advice. If you
want America to have something real, besides merely part time hosting
one person, to be proud of, try to help improve things. Help your
country. Help your community. Help your neighbors. Help yourselves to
be better people. There is always room for improvement, and working for
that is one of the most important things in life. In fact, it's WHY we
are alive. Then you can have justified prided in YOURSELVES, and all
the good work you will have done, and others will see it, and could be
moved to follow your example. I already love you, and always will. Make
me proud of you, so I can have more to love you for." I passed that
around, and they liked it. I sent it to CNN. They liked it.
Then there were comments listing things I do more for America,
including politician approvals. I said, "Politician Approval is a
service that we would provide to any true representative government. We
have been doing similar things all over the world since the first
Stephen incarnation. Most governments haven't chosen to make that
public. But in America, well, what isn't public? All we do to help in
America, we do all over the world. If Americans don't notice that, it
sure isn't MY fault. If this silliness gets worse, it can easily be
stopped. Would I stop helping in America? I would have to, if that
caused more problems in the rest of the world. Keep this unjustified
pride going in public, and all will know that this is what you want."
That caused a lot of angry comments, and then cooler heads started
supporting me. Eventually, they won, with the major religions in
support. Then Don finally mentioned Tibet, and all the help we gave
them. That shut up the noisemakers in a hurry.
I met with Don and others at CNN. I said. "I'm almost sorry that I
kind of forced you to play along, but I think the results are worth it,
compared to the alternative." Don said, "You wanted it to get as bad as
it could, so you could knock it down hard?" I said, "Not exactly. To
cause shame to do that. That's the only thing that can reduce pride. I
couldn't point to Tibet myself. That would be like smacking that whole
country in the face, practically forcing them to acknowledge their debt
to us. That's the big problem with helping in public. Wounded pride for
some, and too much pride for others. I hope now that this issue has
been er, explored, that those things won't be crowed about as much in
the future." The pres of CNN said, "Therapy for the whole world!" I
said, "Exactly." He said, "For the good of humanity, use us more like
this." I said, "Oh, I plan to!" Chuckles.
A man walked into my office at the Bureau. Then he fainted. I caught
him with 4th hands and put him in the chair in front of my desk. When
he woke up, I had a strange instrument in my hands. He said, "What
happened?" I said, "You fainted. This instrument indicates what might
be the reason. It's a detector of psionics. You could have reacted to
it." He said, "I do have some strange feelings I've never had before."
I said with a smile, "But you have. You just ignored them." He said,
"How do you know?" I said, "It's known those talents are something you
are born with. They sometimes become stronger over time, until they
can't be ignored. This indicates that you are presently half psionic.
Some of your abilities could become reliable. It's normal, if that word
means anything here, that you should feel a little disoriented now.
Ready for some advice?" He said, "Yes, please." I said, "Go to the
Buddhist Temple here in town. They'll help you understand what's
happened to you, and help you to settle down." He said, "They can do
that?" I said, "It's been one of their jobs for more than a thousand
years. Currently trained by Stephen and Solomon." He said, "This has
happened before here?" I said, "Sure has!" He had to grin. I said, "You
can apply again if you still want to, after that." He got up to leave,
and said, "Thank you!" I said, "You're welcome."
Ivanna said in my mind, "Unexpected?" I said, "Yes. Didn't show on my
quick entry scan. My own ability shocked him open. I didn't see any
potential for improvement, but this shows us that might not be
permanent. Not a genius, though." She said, "Interesting!"
A woman was next. I said, "I recognize you. Silver medal in archery."
She said, "I didn't expect that!" I said with a grin, "I like that."
She grinned back. She said, "Are you involved in the sport?" I said,
"Martial arts, including weapons." She said, "Ever competed?" I said,
"Not in archery, but I've done some coaching. Student won." He said,
"Somebody I would know?" I said, "No, sorry. I see here you've been in
the army. Oh. You know you show a bad reaction to that?" She sighed and
said, "So I've been told." I said, "Well, let's do some tests." We did.
I said, "I think you know what's going to happen now." She said, "Yes,
I'm not approved. PTSD." I said, "Safety. Your partner fires a gun near
you, you're going to jump sky high. Do that with a gun in your hand,
there's no telling who's going to get plugged. VA not helping?" She
said, "I tried." I said, "Open to an alternative?" She said, "I could
be." I said, "Scientology's got some new techniques from Stephen that's
had some success. Couldn't hurt to try them. Usually costs some money.
Tell them I sent you, and they won't charge." She said with interest,
"Why won't they?" I said, "They know from experience that the few
people we send to them are really worth their effort." She said, "Wow!"
I said, "Absolutely." I gave her my card. She said, "I think I WILL
try!" I said, "Please take this back with you to Personnel. They'll
hold it for if you come back for another try. I wish you all the best."
She left, feeling better than she had hoped.
I felt something unusual. I sent my viewpoint to look closer. I
ported to a little village near Columbo in Sri Lanka. An old woman was
sitting in front of her little house, which wasn't much more than a
shack. I walked toward her. She tried to rise to greet me. I rushed to
help her to sit back down. I sat in the dirt next to her. I said in her
language, "I greet you, Wise Woman. I am Solomon." She said, "I greet
you, Solomon. I have heard strange things about a man of that name." I
grinned and said, "What is strange is a matter of the less known,
becoming known. But I do have to admit that when I think of myself as
others might, I have to agree with them." She grinned back. She said,
"It is said that The Buddha, in the far past, walked this land. Do you
know of this?" I said, "I do." She said, "I see you are a Buddha." I
said, "I am. So are you." She was VERY surprised. I projected peace and
love to her. She said, "But I am not possessed of great powers of the
mind, that such a one should have." I said, "You could, if you wanted
to, but that is not what enlightenment is. You are not of self, but of
all, and of nothing." She nodded. I said, "Soon, in another kind of
existence, you will be asked if you want to reincarnate as a living
Buddha, a teacher, or go on to Nirvana. I tell you this now, to spare
you the confusion of that, not knowing it would happen." She said in
awe, "You are truly a messenger of Nirvana." I bowed.
She said, "Is it true that he walked this land, and left his foot
impression in stone here?" I said, "Titles are simple words that are
applied to infinitely complex people. There have been seven Buddhas
before you, who were OF this land, but the one that is most known, did
not come here." She nodded and said, "As I had thought. Thank you. Will
you advise me on the choice I will be given?" I said, "I think you
suspect that I am forbidden to do that, and you would be correct." She
gave me a really big grin, which I returned with love. She said, "Do
you know when?" I said, "I have not been told." She said, "So you
know." I grinned and said, "And there you prove who you are." She
laughed.
She said, "You are preventing the others here from witnessing this?"
I said, "I am. Our conversation would have been impolitely interrupted.
I can stop that at any time at your request. Do you want them to know
of your er, condition?" She said, "It would serve no useful purpose
will NOT trick me!" She laughed. She said, "Do you know how you will
choose?" I said, "I do not have a choice. I cannot come back." She
said, "So you will stay in Nirvana?" I said, "Not for a long time. I am
not wanted. I have many lifetimes of bad karma to repair, before I will
know. But I do know I do not plan on experimenting to discover that."
She nodded.
She said, "I do not remember past lives. Can you see them?" I said,
"Yours? Yes. You want to know if you have been good people. Much more
good than bad, I am happy to report." She said, "But the bad?" I said,
"We learn from them the most. None who became Buddhas had only good
lives before that." She said, "I had not thought in that way.
Interesting." I said, "Then something else. It is in lives where we
were good, that we most often suffered the most. Yes, good is severely
disrespected." She smiled and said, "I know it is a serious thing, but
I must see in it some amusement for how you express it." I said in
obvious admiration, "I have never heard that expressed so well! Thank
you for your gift of that treasure." She projected humility. I said, "I
absolutely LOVE giving well deserved surprise compliments. A little too
much, maybe." She said, "The joy of the Buddha must be shared." I said,
"That is so true. My mother asks if she may visit with us." She said
with interest, "Please, I would like that!"
Mom ported in, and sat next to us. They exchanged love and greetings.
Mom said, "I've never met a woman Buddha before. I am privileged beyond
imagining!" She said, "The honor is mine. All the world has heard of
you, the confounder of ship captains." They grinned at each other. Then
she looked strange. I nodded. She was serene. She and Mom talked about
many things, including raising children. Then it was time for us to
leave. Mom offered to hug her. She accepted with gladness, and a little
humor projected at me. They hugged with love. Then her body became
limp, and her aura vanished. Mom lowered her gently to the ground. We
positioned her, and I cleaned her body and clothes. I was still keeping
people from noticing all that. Mom said, "You knew!" I said, "Not like
you mean. I just went with the flow. I can't explain it any more than
that." She said, "Sorry. I should have known. Buddha to Buddha is
beyond any of us." I said, "But I did know, that if she could have had
any last gift, well, she had it." Mom hugged me and cried. When she
could, she said, "A gift to me, as well." I said, "Absolutely!"
We ported to the home of the village head man, in the open. There
were some surprised people staring at us. I asked to see him. We were
led into the house. I said to him, "We are here to announce the passing
of a Buddha." I said who it was, and he was partially surprised, and
partially half expecting it. He said, "You will inform the government?"
I said, "Yes. I think you are already preparing in your mind for what
may come of this. Yes, great honors always come with great
inconvenience." He tried not to smile. I said, "One less of those, is
we cleaned her body." He looked relieved and said, "Thank you for your
thoughtfulness." Mom said, "He has so much of that, even we who have
known him all his life, are still surprised by that." I said to her,
"Will you ever stop embarrassing me?" She said, simply, "No." He
grinned. We said our farewells, and ported to the government in
Columbo.
We asked to see the Prime Minister for something of importance. We
were escorted to his office, and an aid went in to inform him of our
visit. We were ushered in. We exchanged greetings. I said, "We are here
to announce the passing of a Buddha." I told him which town and name.
He said, "A woman!" I said, "Yes. There have been others in the past,
but most such Buddhas are not recorded in known history written by
men." He nodded. He said, "We must announce this to all! Would you give
us something of her life?" I said, "Yes." I gave him some memory cards.
I said, "To spare you the time of review, you can see all that is there
in a second, by using this crystal." He said, "I've been to Tibet.
Thank you." He read it, and had a wow for it. I said, "That will work
for all who are greater than 17 years of age." He said, "Will she come
Wow!" I said, "I have to agree. Oh, and she said the same." He had to
chuckle.
I said, "Would you like a painting of her?" He said, "I would, very
much!" I ported one in 3D to my hand, and propped it against a wall. He
said, "With the aura! Are all like that? Oh, pardon me! Yours is much
bigger." I said, "But you are right to be amazed. Hers was much bigger
than all but a very few." He said, "We would build a monument. If it
bigger, to lean against the wall, but it was painted between quartz
crystal sheets, and set to never change. I told him that, earning
another wow. I said, "You may tell others that while she is withholding
her approval due to humility and embarrassment, she does like the
paintings. Ha! I know now why she hasn't yet decided. She wants to
watch what I'm doing about this. Yes, even Buddhas have curiosity." We
exchanged awed smiles. We said our farewells, and Mom and I ported
home.
There were a lot of people waiting for us, with a whole lot of wows
to share. Galagos said, "I want what you have of her life." I said,
"Expected. Here." He said to Hawk, "Home?" They ported away. Mom looked
a question at me, I indicated yes. What he will do with that would be
his first true masterpiece. I said, "She decided. That did it. My
helping to cause that art to be, caused her to want to do that herself.
She will reincarnate as a Buddha. Going to be interesting." They all
agreed.
