Hi Boywonders,
Typically your newsreader will automatically decode yENC files for
you. Forte's FreeAgent does so and it's, well, free. However, you're
accessing The Fort from Google Groups, which means you aren't really
here. Google Groups allows you to read text messages from usenet, but
will not open binary files, such as photos or music. It's sort of like
looking at The Fort through the window of a building across the
street. You can see something is happening, but you're missing all the
fun.
If you really want to be here, you're going to have to find a usenet
provider, such as Astraweb, that still carries The Fort (this
newsgroup). It's a dangerous world out here, so be careful. If you
decide to make the plunge, PING me and I will post The Fort FAQ for
you. You might find it helpful.
Stay Safe,
Doc
