Solomon's Private File #33
These stories about Stephen and Solomon take place starting in
1950's. Stephen wrote about his life in letters to a penpal, and then
in a secure blog, in case he lost his memory again, in the master
computer in his school for gifted students, which he started attending
in 2016 in a new incarnation, until his death. Now his son Solomon is
attending the same school, and is writing in his own secure blog for
his future incarnations.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Solomon is 14 in this story, in the Fall of 2040.

We have a lot more students in our school foster home! Galya moved
in, too, to kind of take Kam's place, who lives in Tibet. And to help
me with double and S Kids. Some of the S Kids are a problem. They were
from sperm donations, and so weren't raised by Adepts. Their strange
abilities made them really jumpy, not knowing anything about them, so I
took all the non Adept raised new kids in our home into a special
preliminary class, after they were told about the house rules.
I said "Our foster home here is special. Different from the other
foster homes the other students are in. Want to guess why?" One said,
"Because we are kids of Stephen?" I said, "Not exactly, although that
has partially caused some of you to be here." No other guesses. I said,
"Because I am here. I am the first kid to be raised by Adepts, and I'm
the first of the Stephen kids. That means I'm the most advanced of all
of you in both ways, and I know more of who you are than anybody else.
There are three categories of kids here, added last year and this one.
Stephen kids raised by Adepts, Stephen kids not raised by Adepts, and
psionic kids born of and raised by Adepts. All of you in this
preliminary class are kids who were raised by regular people, and that
places you at a slight disadvantage. We who were raised by Adepts have
a head start in education, and in knowing about the abilities we might
develop, having seen them in action a lot, and helped with knowing
about our own abilities. It's not something we intended, it just
happened. We can't change what happened, but we can sure do something
about that now! With me?" They really were.
I said, "Now I have to mention an embarrassing problem I have. Hey,
that's not funny!" They laughed. I said, "I have to convince you that I
know what I'm talking about, and have the ability and authority to do
what I do. Talking about myself might not be all that believable to
you, so Scholar Pete, the head of our school, will tell you. It's not
work for him, because he absolutely LOVES to embarrass me." They
laughed. And that's what he did, receiving a lot of wows. Then I said,
"I think I survived that." Grins. I said, "Some strange feelings, and
some strange things have happened to you, that you might not have
explanations for. Might even have caused you some trouble. Tell us
about them. Don't be shy, because we will all know soon enough. Keeping
secrets here is as easy as emptying an ocean with a spoon, but not
nearly as salty." They looked at me strangely. One said, "Alright. Now
we KNOW you are Solomon." I sighed, and they grinned and giggled.
One said, "I feel the feelings of others. I can tell when they're
lying, when they don't match what they are saying." I said, "That's
called the emotion sense, one of the qualifying abilities to come to
our school. About one in four people have it to some degree. You here
have it the best for your age. Sometimes we do NOT want to feel what
other people feel. It's something we have to live with, so we do. But
you'll find that it's a good thing here, because we are all full of
love." One said, "That's really true! I love it!" I grinned, and they
giggled. One said, "I can see or feel er, things. I don't have the
words." I said, "Yes, because there aren't any words that accurately
describe what we call the object sense. You can feel things with your
mind, inside and out. That's another requirement to come to our school.
Those two senses comprise the basic level of psionics known in Asia as
a half open Third Eye, which all of you have. But there is more that
goes with it. Anything else strange?" One said, "Sometimes objects move
my lap. They all laughed very hard.
I said, "Yes, I am who I am. You'll just have to live with it. Oh,
right! You are." Giggles. I said, "That ability you have, which we all
have in different strengths, used to be called psychokinesis. It's now
called telekinesis, but we still use the old abbreviation of PK. With
us, we usually develop full psionic abilities at around age twelve or
later, so we don't practice them until then. Not so with PK. We will be
working with that, with a lot of practice, because it adds to and
increases the power of the other psionic abilities when you get them.
And that's a new procedure for us I started last year." They had some
wows. One said, "I can hear better than other people." I said, "That's
a genetic thing of Stephen's kids, going back a lot of generations. We
do NOT yell around here. It really hurts. Oh, and you do NOT want to
sleep with anybody who snores. No, strangling them is NOT an option."
Laughter.
intending to look like you are on fire, you've done a VERY good job!"
Even he had to laugh. I said, "Just say it. You aren't alone in it." He
said, "My nuts feel really terrific when they're touched, and people
can feel what I feel when that happens." I said, "First, girls, we do
not do boy-girl play that would involve that. Er, at least not here.
Now about the cause. It's another genetic thing for Stephen's boys.
Yes, I have that, too. Some other boys have it, and even those from
other planets. And when it's happening to a group of us, well, that's
REALLY something that can't be described. No, it's not a bad thing at
all! Oh, we can have a ring toss party." Embarrassed laughter. I said,
"No er, point in being embarrassed about it. We see without eyes,
inside and out. When you can't hide it, and feelings which might go
with it, you don't bother. In fact there is an advantage in showing it.
Inspires your friends to help make it tired." Boners jumped. I said,
"Or play drums." Really good laughter. I said, "That other people can
feel something of it when it happens to us, is called projection. It's
a psionic power that everybody has, but Stephen's kids have a lot more
of that, which is why they can feel it, and our love, when we feel that
a lot." Another kid nodded. I said, "If any of you Stephen kids have
any issues you think might be related to being that, come to me. Or you
can ask somebody else, who'll tell you to come to me." We traded grins.
One said, "You said something about sleeping with somebody. Do we
have to?" I said, "Who here hasn't felt terribly lonely at times, being
so different?" They all showed I was right. I said, "Now, here, you
NEVER have to be lonely EVER again! We all love each other so much,
regular people can't understand it. When you sleep in the ams of
somebody you know and love, and they know and accept all who you are in
their love, you NEVER want to sleep alone again. We don't." They were
dripping tears, and hugging each other. I said, "Before we go back and
join the others, you get to be the first to experience MY full love."
They didn't quite fight to be first, but they sure weren't reluctant.
Daren came in then, and helped them to sit after my hug. While they
were recovering, I said, "Daren was the first Stephen kid after my
sister. Still is, actually." We poked each other, grinning. I said,
"This concludes our mini orientation class. Regarding sleeping with
each other. We trade all the time. Better social environment. Ed bosses
that for the boys, including sleepovers. He's the eldest." One said, "I
have a question. I live close to here, but I have to live here instead
of home. Do you know why?" I just grinned.
She turned red, and said, "Oh. This meeting for one. We learn all the
time with you, which wouldn't happen if I lived at home." Daren said,
"My sister and I were the first locals to understand that, and I lived
here last year, even though I didn't want to at first. I can say you
are VERY right. He's a lot of fun, too, which I think you already
know." They gave him some face splitting grins. He said, "One more
thing. Sol is VERY busy. He's working in a lot of places, doing very
important things, and not just saving loudmouth politicians." Giggles.
He said, "He's learning things too, and inventing, and doing a lot of
teaching. He does things for the FBI that hurts his feelings a lot, but
for the good of all of us and the world. If we want him to spend as
much time as he can with us, and I know I do, we should treat him well,
and with love!" I said to him, "First Pete, and now you. However can I
survive this?" He said, "Shut up", and kissed me hard. I said, "Mph!"
After that, I said to them, "Some of you are surprised at the kiss.
Well, it was a little unexpected to me, too. But not in general.
Everybody kisses and hugs each other here, and at school. The custom
evolved because we all love each other so much. Nobody has to, but
refusing might hurt somebody's feelings, and you'll find out very fast
that you don't want to hurt the feelings of people you feel like your
own. I see you understand. If it's one thing we geniuses are, is
logical. I think you're wondering about something. Sexual orientations
don't matter to us, because our kind of love is absolute. But Stephen's
kids are a little different, sexually. At my age, I should have some
body hair, and have sexual attractions. I don't. He changed himself so
he didn't have to shave, and made it genetic, so we won't ever have
that, he caused a delay of the start of his sexuality. For our boys, it
usually comes in at around 15. For girls, I have no idea. The oldest is
my sister, and she's not even 14 yet. We have girls here. I think we
might find out someday. It probably won't be a terrible task." Some
really big grins.
I said, "I know you all will have a great time here. You'll work
hard, oh not that! Well, sometimes." They laughed. I said, "And you
will have more fun than you can imagine. And we love. Never
underestimate the importance of that. Ready to join the others?" One
boy came up to me and kissed me on the lips. All the others didn't want
to be the one who didn't do that, so they all came to me for a kiss. I
whispered loudly to Daren, "Isn't peer pressure great?" He had to
laugh, and so did some of the new kids.
All the new kids and the old kids mingled and talked. All went well,
until it was time to go to bed. ALL of the new boys wanted to sleep
with me. I said, "You know, I would have to be awfully fat, to have all
of you be within touching distance at once. I am NOT that hungry."
Giggles. I said, "New rule. No new kid sleeps with me the first week.
You should get to know each other at your own level, first." Ed said,
"I agree, and for a reason you might not understand for a while. Sol is
one of the wisest persons in history. Doubting him is always a mistake,
because he's right." I said, "Well, half of me is. The rest of me is
what's left." Ed tried not to laugh, but struggled. George laughed
loudly at him. Daren said, "Guys, now you know one of the things he
uses his twisted humor for, to avoid embarrassment." I said, "And, no
thanks to you, it's not working!" They laughed, and finally Ed let
loose.
When he could, he said, "One more thing. Our things. We who can
squirt, do it before bed, and in the morning." I said, "And any other
time we can." Giggles. He said, "At home, only in this room. Any of you
new boys can do it alone, or with a friend, or with a whole tangled
group. Nobody forces anybody, and those who don't want to do it will
always be respected for their choice." He grabbed my nuts, and we all
got instant boners. Boys will be boys. Even the youngest kids joined
in, even though they didn't get much out of it themselves, but they
sure could feel our feelings. And with that many nut sensitives in the
room, it was almost a miracle the whole world didn't feel it, which I
said after we finished. There was a lot of weak giggling. In the
morning, it was a little more under control. While we were getting
ready for school, some of the kids were saying it was going be really
more fun then they imagined. I said in a loud whisper to Ed, "Maybe we
shouldn't tell them this is a small sample of how it's going to be."
There was instantly, a whole room full of expectant wide grins.
They were surprised to see me in the orientation class, teaching it.
The other new students didn't know enough to be surprised. I said, "You
should know a little something about me, first. I'm Solomon, son of
Stephen and Rose. I am presently, the most powerful psionic Adept in
the known galaxy, and I also have the highest intelligence, and total
recall, which some of you also have. I remember many of my past lives.
So far, only those in my family, of all of us, are like that. I hope it
stays that way. It's NOT fun!" One asked, "Why is it bad?" I said, "How
do all lives end?" A lot said, "Oh!" I said, "And some things they did,
even they didn't want to remember." More understanding nods. I said,
are all here to learn. I've done that a LOT. I have a whole bunch of
doctorates, of which three are in education. No, I don't have one in
know I'm qualified to mess with your minds, er teach here." More
giggles. I said, "One of those qualifications is much of this
orientation, I changed. Er, improved, actually. And the old timers here
liked it."
I said, "So, we start. Throughout history, geniuses didn't learn to
use their full potential. They couldn't. They were too few and
isolated, and there were no teachers who could teach them, and often
they were persecuted for being different, and even tortured to death.
Even in modern times, geniuses couldn't learn, because there were too
few to care about. And the geniuses themselves didn't try too hard,
because they didn't need to, to do enough to get by. Then after World
War II, a secret school was created to train genius kids to be super
spies. To go to the school, you had to be a genius, and pass a top
secret security check, and have a special talent. Sounds like a school
for mutants, doesn't it?" They agreed. I said, "That's because it
actually turned out to be that. The first Stephen had super hearing.
One could see in the dark better than anybody, who said he mostly saw
people bumping into things." Laughter. I said, "One was faster than,
er, stuff." Laughter. I said, "There were others. There was a problem,
though. The students were too educated, well trained, and intelligent,
to want to work for the government." Grins all over. I said, "Then a
student became a psionic Adept, but that wasn't all he was. He had
cheated on his intelligence tests. His secret real IQ was around 600.
Until then the highest on record was 202, and that belonged to Scholar
Chad. Stephen was a scientist, and learned how his psionics worked, and
built things that used it, and found and trained other Adepts, and
slowly took over the school. Now we have a school that teaches and
trains our students to reach their full potential, and as far as we
know, this school, and others we founded in the galaxy, are the best in
existence. We kinda think that's not too bad." Grins of approval.
I said, "What we do here works best for geniuses. Because of that,
and our psionics, we live in a different kind of society that some
nosey constipated loudmouths would object to, while they do much worse
things in secret." Some nods of agreement. I said, "So, and for being
persecuted if they could do that to us, what we do here and in our
school foster homes is secret. Break that rule, and you're out. That
goes for your parents, too. And to keep them from wanting to, we don't
tell them much, either. Understand?" They did, mostly. One said, "My
Dad said I have to report to him everything that happens here." I said,
"He signed a contract that says he can't interfere in any way with the
school. Asking you to break security qualifies as that. He doesn't like
it, you're out. If he wants to, he can talk to me about it. A lot of
our abilities are possible only if we keep our minds clear of bad
thinking. That's why we don't lie. If your parents cause conflicts in
your mind, our way of teaching won't work with you." He said, "Oh! Now
I understand. It's what clear means!" I said, "Correct. Well done! If
any of you have any problems like that, talk to me as soon as you can,
or any other teacher, who will then talk to me. I see a question. Among
us, who is the most powerful, most intelligent, and wisest, is boss.
Not because he wants to be, but because he makes the best decisions,
and is most able to carry them out. And they all say that's me. And I
own this. So I'm the boss two ways. Kinda like coming and going."
I said, "How we teach and learn here is a little unusual. You are
given a course by crystal. They work instantly, and you can't forget
it. By course, I mean an entire college course. Then you have a
discussion class about it, and you write a paper on it, to show you
fully understand and can use the information creatively. But you don't
use paper, and you don't write. Our computers are operated by the mind,
and work as fast as you can think, and you can think REALLY fast."
Grins. I said, "Some courses require lab work. That's usually fun. And
messy. And smelly. Right. When I said fun, I really meant it." Giggles.
I said, "But all that is for your mind. That's not nearly enough to
help you to be all you can be. We do physical training in a lot of
different ways. It's hard and tough. Sometimes painful. But fun, too.
You will learn to swim faster than any olympic swimmer. You will learn
to use weapons. You will learn to fight. In fact, our students are the
best at practically everything ever done by human beings. Why do you
need to learn to fight? We refuse to let our people be helpless. Walk
down the streets of this city alone, and you are likely to be attacked.
We want you to be able to survive ANYTHING the universe can throw at
you. In fact, we insist on it. We love you. There are other good
reasons. It helps you to be healthy, and it helps you to discipline
your mind, which you really need to use your psionics safely."
I said, "Now about what security actually is for us. What we do here,
and how we live while we are doing it, is secret. We are different. You
KNOW how people think of and want to treat people who are different!"
They nodded. I said, "That we are different in many ways they wish they
were, makes them really jealous and resentful. I don't want to believe
this, but it's true. A lot of people want us DEAD. Right. It's alright
to cry." My tears were obvious. I said, "They can never believe we
wouldn't, couldn't, use our powers in a bad way to hurt them, because
they know that's what THEY would do if they could. So, we can't let
them know who we are. We can't tell them anything about the school,
even where it is, what we do here, and our abilities. That includes
your parents, if they aren't our school graduates. If you want to say
some things against our security, ask for permission for that. We'll
study it, and if it won't hurt anything, we'll allow it. If you or your
parents break our security, you leave. We will NOT risk our people
being hurt or killed, caused by people who couldn't keep our secrets. I
know it's difficult to keep important secrets from our parents, but we
have to. If they don't like it, even though they agreed to it in the
contracts they signed, tell us, or have them talk to us. This is very
important. Would YOU want to be responsible for one of your classmates
you love, being hurt by something you said to the wrong person?" They
really didn't.
The rest of the orientation classes went smoothly. They learned where
all the important things in the school were, including on Allguard, to
use their new computers, and learned more of our school history and
what we really do on Earth and other planets. It was a big eye and mind
opener for all of them, even the Adept raised kids. It all went well,
and they started their regular school activities without problems.
Mostly.
