Solomon's Private File #21
These stories about Stephen and Solomon take place starting in
1950's. Stephen wrote about his life in letters to a penpal, and then
in a secure blog, in case he lost his memory again, in the master
computer in his school for gifted students, which he started attending
in 2016 in a new incarnation, until his death. Now his son Solomon is
attending the same school, and is writing in his own secure blog for
his future incarnations.
All characters are fictitious, even if some of them might have names
that belong to some actual people, or act like people we know.
Solomon is 13 in this story, in the Spring of 2039

Things have been really hopping with preparations for Dad's death and
promotion. He had Kam with him on the 4th of July love broadcast in
tibet. She did the fireworks very well. She's also officially the Dalai
Lama now, co-leader of Tibet, with the Regent until she is 20. She
lives in the Residence now. Before she moved, we had the last PK lesson
in our foster home, which wasn't actually at home.
I said to the students, "For the next lesson, we have to go someplace
else. Somewhere where there is a LOT of room, and where regular people
won't see us help them pop their eyes out of their heads." Some
giggles. I said, "So, we will port to a sports stadium on Allguard.
Unless you don't want to." There were a lot of rude noises. I said,
"I'll take those who aren't yet able to port. When they see where we
er, landed, the others will join us. We'll need, annoying as it is, to
wear clothes. You'll discover why, soon." They went and got dressed in
a hurry. Then we ported to Allguard. We sat in the middle of the field.
I said, "You know that PK can be used to move objects, and change and
manage energy. A review. What is the energy of heat?" George said,
"Molecular movement. A vibration." I said "Right. When we take heat
away from an object, the molecules slow their movement. Being random,
that doesn't effect the motion of the whole object. But what if we
WANTED it to?" They were all struck with wonder and awe. Kam said, "Why
didn't I think of it?" I said, "The only answer to that, usually, is
simply you didn't. Just like I didn't a few months ago. Don't worry
about it. We can sure think it now!" They agreed. I ported a half meter
square cube of granite to the field. I said, "I'm going to use my PK to
tell all the molecules in it to move upwards at the same time." I did,
and it kind of vanished. A large volume of grass and soil fountained
upward, and there was something like a loud sonic boom. While they were
all thunderstruck, I said, "Hmm, maybe I should have tried this
before." Kam poked me severely all over. The others grinned at us.
I said, "I think we all understand what happened. Something not
completely appropriate for our living room." Some amazed giggles. I
said, "So, we see that selecting all of the molecules is not a
practical way of doing anything but causing onlookers mouths to drop
open in astonishment. What about only a few molecules?" I ported
another block, but of a different color, to the field. It rose slowly
up to about 4 meters, and dropped. I said, "Why did it fall?" They
thought for a bit. Galya said, "The molecules that were going up,
transferred their energy from kinetic to potential in the process, and
then had not enough energy, and so the block fell, recovering the
kinetic energy on impact with the ground." I said "Correct! What if we
include with it a little heat source to replenish that energy?" There
were some wows.
I said, "This was actually done in the past." The object I ported to
me, made them all say, "No! I can't believe it!" I said, "The adults
are using a lot more salty language." They laughed. I said, "In the old
days, Wiccans, also called Witches, would go out at night to commune
with nature. They took their brooms with them to sweep the clearing
clear of debris, in the woods. The townspeople thought the witches used
to fly around on their brooms. Nobody has ever answered this question
in a satisfactory way. WHY did they ever think something so really
strange as that?" They all looked thoughtful. I said, "Pete is already
saying why, with some er, force." They laughed. I said, "They actually
reported what they saw." I ported a lit candle to my hand, and jammed
it between the straws of the broom. Then I sat astride the broom, straw
end facing front, and lifted up in the air.
I said "Ed. Am I using anything of the 4th, or personal levitation?"
He said, "You are not." I said, "This is what the villagers thought
they saw. The candle was for the little extra energy needed. Any of you
see any problems with this?" Daren said, "Can't go at more than a
walking speed, or the candle will go out." I said, "Right! And if it
didn't, the rider could get burned, if it didn't just make the straw
catch on fire. Why don't I show you what they probably used." I made a
little salamander ball in front of me, and removed the candle. I said,
"With stored energy from the hearth fire at home, before she left. In
front of her to light the way." George said, "Why a broom?" I said,
"Because sitting on an ax would be a little painful. They didn't have
anything else to use for this, that they could keep around the hut that
could and should have belonged to them." They nodded. Kam said, "But
WHY did they do it?" I said, "Partly as a part of their worship. The
other reasons were as a little bit of defiance, and er, fun. Probably
the only fun they ever had." They could really relate to that. Then
they had a lot of wows to express.
I said, "I think you can figure out how this is piloted." I ported a
pile of charged batteries to the field, and some brooms. I said, "You
know what to do. See how it works, BEFORE you ride on them. I'll
replace what you lose. And I'll watch for accidents that could cause
injury, and er, catch you. Go for it!" They did. It was a fun madhouse
for a while. I had to prevent some midair collisions. I said, "If you
want to have sexplay after this, you might consider sitting side
saddle." Some did that, to be more comfortable. After an hour of fun, I
called the students to me for a conference. After all were sitting on
the much more comfortable grass, I said, "This is the last of our
special classes. You know the principles of PK now, and some of the
most obvious of its applications. There could be more. If you think of
them, please share. And practice. The people who used these techniques
in the past had no idea how and why they worked. None of them could do
it as well as you have, because of that. But they didn't have to be
full Adepts. One historical note. I don't think anybody before now
could have made that big block take off into space like that. Power
DOES help. It's er, still going." They had some wows. Then they all
hugged and kissed me. Then our clothes flew off, and we had a really
great recess.
At the education meeting, Pete said, "I have to say wow! Witches
flying brooms. I really mythed that one." Dad and I groaned. I said, "I
bet you really worked on that one." He had to laugh. Dad said, "There
are a lot of possibilities in what you presented, that you didn't
enumerate." I said, "Right. On purpose. Told them that in a way.
Motivation to think for themselves." He said, "Unlike what I did.
You're actually a better teacher." I said, "But shorter." He grinned,
and we hugged. Pete said, "Could you tell us at least one more?" I
looked at Dad, and he nodded. I said, "You know Dad can read a
computer's magnetic media, and even write to it. How?" Pete looked
surprised, and said, "Oh! Object sense can't see magnetic fields, and
definitely can't modify them. Had to be PK." I said, "I didn't tell
them, because it requires fantastic math ability and speed of mind, and
almost impossible control in many partitions. Experimenting with that
could be very disruptive. They can learn that when they're older." Dad
said, "Yes. I didn't realize I was using PK in that, until his lessons
showed it had magnetic sensitivity." Pete said "But our computers are
partially crystalline." I said, "Orientation of atoms and energy
states, instead of relatively large groups of atoms. That's partially
what you affect with PK when you put things in memory crystals.
Attached psychic energy is what holds most of the information. Your PK
mostly makes it stable and long term." He said "All this is amazing!
You're amazing." I said, "Sorry, no. I'm Sol." We hugged and kissed.
Then Pete obviously had an idea. He said to me, "Can you do it?" I
said, "I'm disappointed in you, for how you think of me." He said, "Oh,
I did it again. Underestimated your achievements, ability, and
scientific standards. Of course you can do it, or you wouldn't have
stated as fact that is what happens." I said, "Yes I can. A bit of
work, too. There is another partial lesson I plan to put in a paper. In
basic terms, what really are Ki, PK, and Chakra energies? How different
are they? Might that difference be only in how we think of them?" Dad
looked very interested, and said, "When?" I said, "I don't know. Might
take years. I expect you to assist with that after you go." He grinned
really wide, and said, "Already ordering part of God around?" I grinned
back and said, "Yes, if it works. I have a feeling I'll need that for
something important." He nodded acceptance. Pete was in awe. I said to
him, strongly, "I am NOT your hero. You've already got one. Bigger,
too." Pete almost choked. Dad tried not to laugh. I watched both
reactions with interest. That didn't help either of them, which I
liked, and they knew it.
Dad had a meeting with a group of Islamic scholars. They asked if I
were the Biblical Solomon. He was sly in avoiding telling them either
way. Later at home in private, I said, "That life is complicated. I was
misunderstood by practically everybody. Even violently. I didn't want
to rule, but knew I had to. All I really wanted to do was to study
psionics." He said, "So you invited Priests from all over to come to
you to share their knowledge." I said, "How was I to know that my
people would view the homes my guests occupied, as foreign Temples?" He
said, "Intolerance is often a surprise to those who don't have it." I
said, "They called me wise, but compared to you, I was like a little
child." I was sitting on his lap. He looked down at me, and we laughed
Pete released my being a Jew statement. With this addition. "People
are wondering what my father thinks about my choice of religious
affiliations. If you haven't considered this already, I'll point you in
the right direction. Do you really think my father who loves me, who
was Joseph, Moses, and Daniel, would think badly of his son becoming
Jewish? One more thing. This isn't the first time for me. Yes, I
remember my past lives, and being in a lot of different religions, but
I only remembered them after I had chosen to be Jewish."
People were making and reacting badly to rumors that Dad was going to
die soon. He released a statement to help calm them. There was a
meeting about it, afterwards. We were poked by the other side. The
Buddha. He wasn't just saying hello. He gave Dad something. He said it
was better time management to help him do what he planned to do in his
last love broadcast. Later, I asked for a really private meeting with
him. We did it by shielded mindtalk. I said, "Dad, he gave you a way to
slow down your perceived time." He said, "Yes, How do you know?" I
said, "Because he gave it to me, too. And all your other time math that
you wouldn't give us. It wasn't an accident." He said, "Prep for a
task?" I said, "Must be. Don't know what. Something else we need to do.
Tomba's replacement. We just don't have anybody for that post. Rhamcha
would be a candidate, but he doesn't know the Guardians like Tomba
does. You know where this leave us." He said, "Yes. I was wondering
when you would mention this. You and Kam. Here's the info." I said, "I
could say thanks, but I'm not feeling it." He said, "I understand." I
said, "A request. Your time studies. Can you do that for my lives?" He
said "Done. Ready to receive?" I made a special partition for it, and
nodded. I said, "Thanks. Could be really useful some day. One more
thing. Poisoned hornets in the nose and ears! Of all you ever did to me
in our battles, that was the absolute nastiest!" We laughed, and
exchanged loving virtual hugs and kisses.
As soon as our schedules matched, I had a private meeting with Kam in
Tibet. The first thing I said was, "I miss you!" She said, "Same here.
We will always be a part of each other. Even apart." We shared notice
of the unintended pun. I said, "We need it. More, I think I'll need it
in some strange way. They've got plans for me." She said, "I'm not
surprised, considering what they did to Dad." I told her about Tomba
and the cache, and gave her the information Dad had given me about it.
I stayed the night. We did sexplay, naturally, and slept together. I
said in the morning, "Whenever you need this, I'll know, and if it's
possible, I'll be here for you." She said, "I was just going to say
something like that!" We hugged and kissed, and just hugged with love
for a little while longer.
